4GB DDR on an nForce4 desktop

"If you run 4 sticks your cpu will down clock, the memory controller on 939 mobos can only do 333mhz with all 4 slots filled. But as you said if you go 2gb x 2 of ddr it is hard to find and I'm sure it will be really expensive if it isn't server memory. I haven't seen any us store/websites sell...

It is compatible and should work fine at default speeds. You plan on overclocking? If so I would get faster memory.

    DDR2 vs DDR3

In real world performance is there that much of a difference between DDR2 and DDR3? I'm looking at a couple of AM2+/AM3 mainboards that will take DDR2. Would they be that much slower than an AM3 mainboard that takes DDR3? Getting ready to upgrade and want to keep my 4 GB DDR2 1066 memory and...

    Broken CPU Socket on Motherboard...Odd?

Your motherboard requires a special bracket. A standard AM2 bracket will not fit. Trust me on this one. You will have to go to Asrock to order it.

    Need a vid card upgrade...

5770 would be the way to go but they are a little over $100. 4850 1GB is right at $100 now. Could probably pick up a used 4870 for about $100 also. On the Nvidia side a 9800GT 1GB is about $100 right now. I would get a DX11 card if I were you ...

FS: Retail AMD 64 3700+ San Diego

Retail 3700+ San Diego. Heatsink unused. Less than 2 months old. I've had it to 3.1Ghz on air but it became unstable after a few days so I dropped it down to 2.8Ghz where it runs totally solid at 1.45v. This is an exceptional chip and if you have the right board, memory and cooling it will...
