I've been using acrylic bay res' for years and never had a problem. Like was said, just don't screw things down too tight and you'll be fine. Also keep in mind that acrylic and alcohol don't mix. As far as fans for your PA rad, one set of fans will do just fine. One of the reasons those rads...

    side by side 240mm rads...

All the 120mm rads are bigger than the fans that mount to them. Maybe you could put one rad inside and one rad outside?

    TJ07 with 120.3

Most loops only have a difference of a couple degrees between the inlet and the outlet of the rad. Hottest water going to the inlet and the coolest water exiting the rad. So, a couple degrees difference probably won't make much of a difference for your vid card temps. Typically you just want to...

Aren't you going to wc you vid card? I have the 2 back fans on mine bringing air in. I have a piece of cardboard that I'm using to direct the air onto the mobo right at the cpu socket area. I have no fans on top and my case temp is sitting at 40c with 23c ambient.

Adding another rad doesn't always equal lower temps. If your current rad isn't completely saturated then adding another rad won't help with temps. In your case it probably will since the stealth rads aren't very good and the PA series are. Actually the PA120.2 will cool better than the stealth...

Will an extra pump help at all?

If your going to have 2 pumps in series then they need to be the same kind of pump. You can't have 2 different flow rates. You'll end up starving one or the other. If you did add another pump I would be surprised if you saw much of a difference. What's your flow look like now? If it looks...

Bought the grill from Home Depot. It was actually mesh to go over the gutters of your house. Used the stock grills to make a template out of wood. Once that was done it was a piece of cake to make the new grills. My temps used to go up by about 3-5c when I put the side on with the stock grills...

    Stacking radiators? Will it work?

Agreed. Great job. I think I would have had both rads pulling fresh air, especially since you have that center grill for exhaust. Still, very nice external box.

    TJ07 with 120.3

The stealth rads are not known for their performance. Mounting the rad in the bottom is a snap with a couple galvanized brackets from Home Depot. Drill a couple holes in them to match your rad and couple in the bottom of the case and your set. Don't have any pics of the brackets themselves but...

    Stacking radiators? Will it work?

But it isn't [H]ard. ;) If he leaves it stock he'll be fine. If he oc's, like he says he wants to, he will not be happy with the temps he ends up with.

    Stacking radiators? Will it work?

You are obviously confused on how radiators work. They do not magically wisk heat away. They simply transfer it to the air being passed through it. Their performance is directly related to the air temp passing through them. As usual Arcy is the voice of reason here. I would think his...

    Stacking radiators? Will it work?

One of my first builds was with a setup like this and it doesn't work very well at all. A rad can only cool the water down to the temp of the air that is passing through it. So your second rad will only be able to cool things down to the temp of the air exiting the first rad which will not be...

need a final write off on tubing. 7/16 or 1/2in...help!

If you built your loop with 7/16" and then built your loop with 1/2" I bet you would see no difference in temps. It really comes down to preference. The clouding issue has been ongoing as to which type is best for anti-clouding properties. Turns out the best is the Tygon 2075. But then it...

Direct Comparison GTX360 vs PA120.3 results

I don't have a shroud so there will be no shroud tests. Shrouds don't do too much for radiators usually. For heater cores they're a must.

I actually will try that. This weekend I'll tear back into it and do the 100% cpu and fans at 35% and the 100% cpu no fans. I'll keep you guys posted. :D

Direct Comparison GTX360 vs PA120.3 results

Hey guys, I had the opportunity to buy a PA120.3 for an extremely good price (THANKS Masaville  ) and I've always been curious how my GTX360 would stack up against the king of the wc'ing world. Since I've never been able to find a direct comparison between these two rads I thought I'd do...

Is there an end all good value low noise 120mm fan? (looking for fans for PA 120.3)

Hmmm, mine undervolt fine. One of the things I really like about these fans is the low voltage that they'll run at. I run mine at 3.5v at idle and they gradually ramp up as cpu temps rise. I can't even hear them till they get to about 8v.

Is there an end all good value low noise 120mm fan? (looking for fans for PA 120.3)

Bah!!! YL's are so over rated. ;) I prefer to spend $15 a fan. How good can a $4 fan be? :p Seriously, so many respected names in wc'ing recommend the YL's you know they're good. The fans I linked above are the ones I'm using right now and really like them. But they are a bit pricey.

    Disaster

Jeez, can't find the leak. That aint cool. Don't think I'd throw that on a cpu till I did find the leak. Is that the only block on your loop? Did you make sure all the screws on the block are tight? O-ring in good shape?
  24. S

    Would you triple-loop? (MCP655)

A GTX480 rad would give you acceptable temps with a single loop. I'm not sure if it would fit in the stacker though. Not as good of temps as a dual loop but it would simplify the build and make your routing nice and clean.

    DYI Resivoir questions

I've been using acrylic reservoirs for years and have never had a problem. You just have to remember that they're fragile and treat them accordingly. As far as making your own, I'm sure it's more than doable. As was stated you'll have to have some perfect cuts and a really precise gluing...

    Fishtank to be resevoir

Your going to end up cooking your fishes. The only reasonable way to do this is to have a divided aquarium. One side for the fish and one side for the comp. And even then it may be too hot for your fish. Kind of a silly idea with no real advantage to making it work.

First W.C. installation getting started today, and a few questions

Testing outside the case doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you have to break any connections to put it in your case. Install your mobo and loosely mount any waterblocks you'll be using. Figure out your routing. Measure out and test fit your tubing. I always plumb in a drain line somewhere...

    Looking at a kit...

It pays to do wc'ing right the first time. A substandard wc'ing setup will be worse than a high end air cooling solution. Quads get HOT and I wouldn't recommend using anything less than a 2 x 120mm rad. Take a look at my sig for my loop and quad details.
  32. S

    Looking at a kit...

If the rad is already going to be external then you might as well get a 2 X 120mm rad or even a 3 X 120mm. That's a good kit but you need to up the size of the rad. Check out Petra's wc'ing kits. They've got some great kits put together and a great store.

  34. S

    Using 2 Small Radiators?

Agreed. You might not get quite the same temps you would with a 2 X 120mm rad and of course you'll have more tubing involved, but temps shouldn't be too far off from each other. Make sure you feed both rads fresh air.

Watercooling CPU Only, Does Loop Orentation Matter?

That's a weird theory you have there. Especially considering there is only about a 2c water temp difference anywhere in your loop. That's at the inlet and outlet of your rad. just as an example, at my rad inlet my water is 22.5c right now. That's the hottest part of my loop. I don't think 22.5c...

Koolance: Shady PR aimed at HWLabs

There's no excuse for the article that Koolance published. My opinion of the company has dropped quite a bit because of it. But, they do make a decent entry level wc'ing system. Of course we all know there's better to be had out there but some people don't get into wc'ing as much as most of us...

Suggestions for my first WC'd PC

Thermaltake has an extremely bad rep for piss poor products. It's not so bad when your talking air cooling but when you talk about wc'ing and the potential damage you can get from sub standard products. It's difficult to give you recommendations based on what you have. You really should have...
