This is what turned people off from WoW and damage meters/gear checking, people using them to kick in 5 mans. Min/Max is fine for progression raiding, but people pulled that shit into 5 mans.
While the game developers may not like a last minute change to HW, Sony could still update it if the migration path isn't terribly painful. Once they do regulatory testing, that is when the HW will be truly locked down.
At the peak, 12 million subscribers...~$2 billion/year. Wrap your noodle around that!
Yeah, significant numbers have left, but it is still a billion a year cash cow.
Umm...5.5 million * $15/month = $82.5 million a month in revenue I would NOT call that life support. Sure it is less than half of the peak subscribers, but still is an insane player base compared to other MMOs. Blizzard will be turning a profit on WoW for another 5 years, and most likely 10+.
Good lord...as a EE working on my MBA, how can you keep going back to academia? At some point, don't you want to do something other than work/school with your time?
As for D3, I kind of enjoyed it on the PC, definitely put some time into it, but got bored. So far on the PS4, I am really...
I just bought a PS4 for a couple reasons. I am back in school working on an MBA. As such I don't have time to dedicate to long playing sessions. Can do an hour here or there, or maybe not even play for a couple weeks. As it is, my current quarter's coursework is quite light, so I have more...
Yes, I have quit a few games out of boredom.
Rust, BF4, Rift, GW2, Bioshock
I played each enough that I got my monies worth, but I got bored and just stopped playing them.
I do agree with you in principle. Though it's kind of fun if you land on a server that has mostly friendly people with a few bandits. Unfortunately, there are very few servers like this. Most are bandit heavy. Though if you play with a KOS/Griefer mentality, it can be a lot of fun on any...
I told you so.

/being that guy...
Yeah my BF4 experience has stopped me from pre-ordering anything for a while.
To Silver's point, people will defend anything they have an emotional attachment to. Go read the BF4 thread. So many people pointed out the lag, CTDs, shitty netcode from 13 years ago, and yet people defend BF4...
Yeah, I expect to be betrayed, but a guy crafted me a bolt action and an M4, so I let him in my guest house. I expect him to raid me at some point.
I love building troll houses. I had someone raid me, they blew up 2 metal doors, then were faced with a campfire and 5 more metal doors. They...
It's $20 and in alpha. I felt kind of dirty paying for an Alpha, but I've had a lot of fun. No regrets so far, but some of the shinny-ness is still there. In a week or two I may feel different. Though this is the first game where I wake up and want to log in and check things out before...
How does DayZ compare to Rust? Out of curiosity, I bought Rust, it was cheaper of the two. At first, I hated the game style but now, I kind of like it. Though you learn fast, don't get attached to anything, you will lose it.
No offense to fans of the BF series, but BF4 is a piece of shit. The issues with the netcode were there in BF1942. To have the same issues 10+ years later is fucking ridiculous. These issues were in BF1942, BF:V, BF2, the mods based on these, I skipped BF3 but heard they were there too, and...
Hey all, was wondering if you could help me out. It's a stretch as I know most people here are Americans. Specifically looking for South Koreans that were gaming when the Xbox was released there. Couple of questions:
1. Did you buy one?
2. What compelled you to buy one?
3. Why did you...
43 pages at 40 posts per page, about 1 in 3 is complaint about some issue, another 1 in 3 acknowledges the issues exists but is having having fun regardless, and another 1 in 3 just commenting on something, they may or may not have previous posts about issues.
Then there are the odd posts...
Not at all, they break even or lose a bit on each unit sold, but now have a constant revenue stream from that device. They will make money off each game sold. Their break even point may be 20 games per console. It may be 5.
This is similar to the razor market. Each razor handle is sold at...
Having participated in a few cost tear downs, I can tell you that this number is an estimate. Though it is an extremely accurate estimate, likely within ~0.1%, so give or take about $0.48. It's actually pretty easy to do if you've been in the industry long enough. Also keep in mind this is...
For me, yeah, I took a long time off of shooters, so understand that I will need time to get back into the game. My k/d is improving, still horrible though.
However, there is enough buggery in the game that telling a person they suck is pretty shitty at this point. See below...
That bug...
Actually, I've seen most people stating what's wrong with BF4 without inflating it. Not seeing people claim it is unplayable. Hell most if not all of the people complaining about it, want to like it, that is why they spent $50+ on buying it on release/pre-release.
As to the hit detection...
I target $1/hour for video games. I feel that is good entertainment value, especially when you compare it to how much you spend on movies, concerts, sporting events, etc...
I like how you underlined greatly, when referring to issues as inflated by people. But then talk about having to swap servers due to rubber-banding, disconnects, and then suggest waiting a few weeks for DICE to patch it. This essentially what everyone is complaining about. No one's inflating...
I haven't played the BF family since BF2. I decided to pick up BF4. After a 4 days of playing, meh. It feels like a BF game. I didn't play BF3, so this comment may come off strange. If you are looking for new skins and beautified BF experience, then it's worth it. If you already suffer from...
What I have I played in the BF franchise: BF1942, BF:V, BF2, and a modern desert mod that I forget the name of. I did not play BF3.
I have not played an FPS in quite a few years, so some of this is me getting the twitch feel back. That and I am playing on a laptop, though the laptop is...
Wonky doesn't cover the 1942 release...
Not a bad release night, had a crash though. Only played for about an hour. Need to get back into playing FPS...my reactions are slow.
Dumb Question: Where the hell is the options menu to adjust settings and keyboard layout. When I fire up the game it just takes me to the battlelog and I don't see an options menu.
Yeah I knew that much. Just surprised there wasn't a bigger price difference when compared to a Macbook Air.
Honestly, not really any constraints, I could spend more but don't really want to. Mainly going to be a light use machine for school (MBA program, so expect Excel to be the biggest...
