Those running two monitors the un-fixable seems to have been fixed previously if running 2 cards the primary would never throttle back at rest! nVidia stated more than once this was a windows problem but with these drivers, users like me are reporting that the cards now do throttle back to 50...
You are the master and very tallented, I agree you should push your work to some of the vendors for the use of your wallpapers in marketing their gear.
David
Okay! coolermaster have a very pedestrian looking logo that would be super with your tallent. wanna give it a go..... well yes! I have a Coolermaster Sniper case and you've done everything else I've got so why not :)
David
As being new to SLI, I'm not sure if the extra expense is worth it, however now I have two cards running I'm not going back, a couple of things, master will always run hotter than slave with 2 monitors. In SLI games both gpu's won't work as hard as one so will not be as hot/noisy as one GPU...
I never had a H50, but I can tell you my performance comes no where close to yours, with an ambient temp of 25c my H70 at idle is 39 - 40c using Prime and Intelburn Test (1 hour each) my temps never go above 60c, I have no need to OC.
I have put 2 x Exalibur PWM fans on and do Exhaust out of...
Well I do have a very well vented case Coolermaster Sniper Black Mesh. 20c where I live would have most people wearing coats all day :D. I have my setup exhausting out of the case for the very reason I live in a hot cliemate.
Right now at 22c (it's early morning here) and humidity of 72% my...
I never had it any other way, I just can't see the sense of dumping hot air into a case.
What I do find about the H70 is that at idle temps it is on a par with most coolers but it really shines at load, last night I ran Intel's burn test and for over an hour the temp did not go above 60c with...
Some considering swapping out their H70 fans may find this useful.
Changed to CM 2 x 120mm Exalibur PWM fans to enable setting fan profiles via the mobo or other 3rd party application.
Ambient temp 26c
Humidity 61%
Decibels measured with iPhone app about 1 foot from case
Sound...
So as the 'cooler' air is drawn over the radiator it is heated and then dumped into your case to heat up the MB, Vid Cards, Memory, drives etc, further increasing the heat of the cpu which in turn heats up the radiator to in turn increase the heat coming into the case! and so it goes on and on...
I have SLI setup and working but my 2 cards are close together consequently the gpu in slot 1 is running warmer than slot 2, slot 1 is presently the primary and does most of the work making it even hotter.
I thought if I could make slot 2 gpu the primary it has the better air flow and would...
I just finished my install into a CM Sniper black mesh from std intel cooler, on first boot the pump did not cut in, the cpu was at 99c from switch on to windows, that's how much heat a cpu generates so when we talk about 30 or 40 with a cooler it means 60 degrees is being treated.
Anyway...
The latest beta drivers from nvidia seems to have fixed the problem, mem core now behaving temps are 37 GPU1 and 30 GPU2, so I'll go and see what this sli is all about
Thanks for you help
David
Thanks for that, just not use to seeing those sort of temps... no new bios from MSI that I can see, got the latest beta from nvidia, will re-install the second card tomorrow and install new drivers, see how that goes.
Thanks for your interest, really appreciate it
DAvid
I have just built a new box ASUS P6X58D PREMIUM, INTEL CORE I7 950, Corsair HX1000W psu and I got a second MSI GTX460 1Gb OC.
I set up sli using a bridge and the system recognised the setup and nvidia control panel gave me only 2 options, maximum 3D performance or disable sli.
The first...
I have just built a system as per my sig, I have a problem that I can't understand.
I can't turn the computer off! if I shutdown by any means everything goes off for about 6 seconds then springs back to life
I have searched the bios to ensure there is nothing like wake from LAN, I have...
Very good, you are unique! nobody else can do what you are doing, I just followed your video and this is the final few lines from the dos command
d:\Utilities\nvflash_windows_567>nvflash --list
NVIDIA Firmware Update Utility (Version 5.67)
NVIDIA display adapters present in system:
No...
Thanks for that, I was excited to think what you say can be done in windows 7 X64, but alas as per all the other advice writen, windows 7 does not grant access to system componants like the video card.
The normal message, like I get, is that NO card can be found, this is why both Mvtech and...
First you have to get your new fermi bios set up!
A good place to start would be here http://www.mvktech.net/content/category/4/67/37/ read the guides for getting your existing bios, modifying and then flashing.
You can only flash in DOS and windows 7 does not support DOS so you need to...
The guy works hard and the program is functional, a small donation will stop it having to be paid for in a big way.
The purpose to flash a bios is to remove the need to have programs running in the background, my experience with RT and AB is that at times these programs can stop working and...
Yes I am a contributor, you will only find the ability to adjust the fan speeds in 5.9, you can now adjust clock and voltage with 5.8 on all Fermi cards
David
Version 5.8 does not provide FULL support for GTX460! only clock, voltage and memory. Version 5.9 also provides fan control and is available after a modest donation to the developer. It also works with many other cards.
True it does provide a means to flash your bios using another third party...
I was looking for a thread like this! I have been running my MSI Cyclone CTX460 for a week on softclock at 850/4400, to test it's everyday stability after having no problems I flashed the bios and for a while everything was okay. then as I loaded up ARMA2 I got the jitters! GPU-Z showed...
Look you are now splitting the two concepts beyond where the topic started.
Let's make it simple! you put a DVD into your player on the computer, what are you looking at? your looking at code on the DVD that is converted into a drawn image on your computer screen, forget how it was coded the...
This is really going nowhere and is becoming boring, nothing in a movie is pre-determined! you are shooting as events unfold but you are only capturing images, in a computer wether it is a word program or a game the screen is being redrawn (an image created) over and over again reflecting any...
I didn't see a question in your post sorry! but then you say no such thing as locked FPS and go onto say "or are playing a framerate-capped game" and then to give details about mouse movement!.
To recap this thread is about playing Crysis in a enjoyable manner, my point of view is that it is...
Thanks for that but I'm not a kid my mum passed on long ago, my first computer was a commodore 64 and for a very short period of time I had the fastest Amiga 1000 in the world according to Commodore magazine.
I have built boxes, modified them cooked them in the quest for speed, then 1 day as I...
Of course there is a difference I never indicated there wasn't I said anything above 18 fps creates fluid motion below that it does not, optimal is 25 - 30 fps as in video movies above that is very good but the game is still very playable in the 20's
David
Both work on the same principle a single frame either shown or drawn at a determined speed. A camera captures images called frames, which are a singe image in time, a computer game draws a single image (frame) and then another and another.
In reality a digital camera creates an image based on...
I'm a videographer, meaning I shoot photographs and HD Video, I use my computer for the purpose of editing and compiling in that medium.
FPS has always been used as a measure as to how much grunt your computer has in reality it has very little to do with what you actually see, anything above 18...
