personally I would still get the 750w (it is overkill but the price is good right now). Get this one instead of the PCPC one though.
Corsair 750TX ($89 after google checkout and mail in rebate)

I have bought from them before, I got two 140mm yate loons for $5 shipped. Processing and shipping was VERY slow, but I don't care that much since I got them for a low price.
I ended up putting all of the fans in to the psu except for the heatsink fan heading and one intake fan. I think that will be fine. Is there a way to adjust the fan speeds on the fans in the psu without using a "hardware" fan controller?
Hey guys, I am building my first computer and everything is going fairly well so far. I have a question though, I have an ASUS P5k-e Wifi/ap and a Corsair 520hx power supply and a Coolermaster 690 case. I am installing many fans to keep the case cool (around 5 to 6 total). Is it a good idea...
Any opinions on this monitor? I love the look of it and it seems it could be a similar panel to the Samsung 226bw. What are your guys take on it? Anyone own one? Does ASUS make good monitors?

That is the hd3870, and a 20% improvement is actually a pretty good boost. All graphs are skewed, just like statistics, to make a product sound better (or worse) than it is.
Considering the 3870 will be compared to the 8800gt which came out like a week and a half ago, I don't consider that a long time. This is not supposed to be a flagship card at all, it is supposed to be mainstream. The newer flagship cards probably won't be released till next year.
I am looking at 3 similarly priced 2x2gb setups to purchase by G.Skill. Which one should I chose for a new first time build q6600 setup?
Planned specs of new build are:
Case: COOLER MASTER RC-690
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0
MB: Gigabyte DS3R, or Asus P5K-e Wifi, or ? (suggestions...
Check out KC-Computers. They might have a pretty bad web site but their ratings are outstanding. Just shoot an e-mail to their sales and Kevin will get back to you in no time.
what the person meant by the comment was that the 8800gt is supposively due out next week. Rumor has it that it will be better then the 8800gts 320mb and cost about $50 less as well. So I recommend you at least wait and see how it pans out :)
I think I am gonna go with the Coolermaster Hyper TX (What does it mean by OEM packaging? I still get all the necessary assembly parts right?)
It seems to fare well in this xbitlabs test and this June 2007 Heatsink Roundup
Based on my needs, does this seem like a good choice?
I am planning on getting a G0 Q6600 for my new rig based in a CM690 case using a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L motherboard. I do NOT plan on overclocking but I still think it would be better if I invest in a better cooling solution. What do you guys think?
Thanks for the comments, what about an even cheaper HS like the Hyper TX. For some reason it seems to get great reviews consistently.

Especially here when it matches the tuniq 120...
Thanks for the comments/corrections. My main purpose for the arctic cooler 7 was to be be quieter and cooler than the stock. If it does not provide the ability to overclock much that is fine. I don't really want to deal with a bigger, heavier, and more complex heatsink for my first build. I...
Hey guys, I am building my first computer ever. I will be using it for school, work, and gaming (UT3). I currently have a 17" LCD that runs at 1280x1024. I need advice on the build. These are the parts I have in mind for the system:
Case: COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX...
You could find others for that after rebates probably. For that price out the door though, that may be your best bet.
There is a good many laptops around for $499 after say $200 rebates that would be much better than that laptop.
check out KC Computers
I personally have not had any experience with them but they get great ratings on ResellerRatings
Infact, maybe you could buy one for review Chris. I would be very interested in the results.
The site might be basic but shoot Kevin a email for help and quotes.
UPS doesn't update their tracking sometimes. If it has always been supposed to arrive on Monday the 19th I wouldn't be worried. I bet you will get it on monday if that is what the original date was.
My brother is wanting a SFF system(he doesn't need top of the line but is an aspiring graphic artist and games a bit). I was wondering if this computer is any good and if I should bid higher than my current bid (max bid $520)(i.e. how much would this be worth)...
Ok to start I am not that good with computers. I recently got a Samsung SP2504C hard drive and attempted to install it as a 2nd hard drive with my main C: being a WD36gb raptor. It would show up fine during the POST but would not show up under my computer or disk management. I tried numerous...
Hey guys, I just got my samsung 2504C 3.0gb (my motherboard is a gigabyte GA-K8NNXP-940) hard drive and pluged in the sata interface cables and power cables and then flipped my computer on. At the start up it showed both my WD36 (the :C drive) and the samsung (my new 2nd hd) being recognized...
But then you have to ask yourself what happened at the warehouses before they shipped to you? ZipZoomFly could be playing soccer with theirs and then package them all nice to ease peoples mind. I think this whole shipping thing is being blown out of proportion.
