I am planning on getting a G0 Q6600 for my new rig based in a CM690 case using a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L motherboard. I do NOT plan on overclocking but I still think it would be better if I invest in a better cooling solution. What do you guys think?

If you're not overclocking the stock heat sink is fine. If you want something more effective I recommend the Zalman CNPS9500. It's not the cheapest but it looks great and performs very well.

Arctic cooling Freezer 7 pro.

Cheap, Quiet, High performance. I've used it in more systems then I care to count.

the zalmans are really more about cosmetics then functionality. Don't get me wrong, they've got a great comprimise: for something that looks as cool as it does, it performs very well. To that end, its very expensive, and its not as efficient as a much more blan and bad looking design as say something as boring as a scythe ninja or a thermalright Ultra 120.

I got a retail E6600 HSF that I got with mine but I read bad reviews about it I manned up and got the Zallman..friggin newegg only sells retail cpus
PM me if interested

i heard and read that the thermaltake V1 is awesome for the q6600. Anyone else hear about the V1?
