thanks for the suggestions. I'll have a look at the corsair 800d and if that doesn't work out I'll look for towers with five 5.25 bays.
any other suggestions?
Looking to put together a new system, my first in 7-8 years.
Because my tower is in a bit of a confined space, I'm looking for a case that will allow me to access the internal 3.5 bays from the front instead of the sides.
So far the only one I've found is the NZXT H2, but I was...
Haven't read the whole thing yet. But it looks like they took 60 university students and sat'em 4 meters away.
I've uploaded the pdf here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F3HJJ2NP
odd question, but I was wondering what happens if I install a formatted drive with data (esata), that has the same drive letter as an internal drive (sata).
Well we tried the jumper too (which just changes whether it's limited to SATA I speeds I believe).
I'm not sure if I was entirely clearly in my first post, but the same drive that didn't work in her dock, does work in my dock which is the same model. So is compatibility still a factor?
A friend of mine has been having some issues with her nexstar dock (the single drive one). It will detect, read and write a 500gb seagate and 1.5tb seagate she had access to, but not a 1tb seagate drive. The 1tb drive doesn't even appear in disk management.
She tested the dock+drive on her...
Well actually that helped a bit, I opened up my enclosure and determined that the chip on the board was a Cypress controller too. A EZ-USB AT2LP™ High Speed Peripheral USB 2.0 Controller in 56-SSOP...
Well I'll be. switching the device the slave actually worked. Thanks!
Apparently only one of my syjet cartrige is still working, and I can't seem to do anything besides actually seeing what files are on the cartridge. Gotta figure out whether it's because the cartridge is damaged or if it's...
I have this EIDE internal syjet drive and I figured I'd try and make use of it. Didn't want to stick it in my computer, so I put it in an usb enclosure. I can't seem to figure out how to get Windows XP to recognize it though.
Google turned up some stuff, but it was mostly related to the...
I have just tried doing the bios update. That was a no go. Any further suggestions?
*clarification* I should probably have said that I tried doing a bios update which was successful, but didn't resolve my issue.
Well I took it apart, reseated the CPU and RAM. No luck with that. I tried updating the BIOS to see what would happen, but doesn't seem to work. get a strange error about the bios update program being unable to read the system information.
Is there a way to to extract the bios update file...
So I have this Sony Vaio AR150 that a friend dropped off with some weird display issues.
I've tried unplugging and replugging all the cables, both at the back of the lcd panel and on the logicboard end.I don't think it's the LCD itself.
I've tried restoring the computer using recovery...
I have this stick of SODIMM DDR333 RAM and I'm trying to figure out who the manufacturer is to see if there is still warranty on it.
The only identifiers I can make out are the Nanya chips and the following on a white stickers:
MDONY4G3I44C081E5Z
DDR33(2.5) 1GX16
SN: 619TR...
Not sure if I should have posted this here or in the computers and gadget section. I have the dinovo laser bluetooth combo and I was wondering if I could just pick up an off the shelf bluetooth adapter to use with the keyboard so I could use mouse on another computer.
I was wondering if...
For those interested, I downloaded the pdf using my university's subscription. The majority of printers tested were HP and RICOH with a small sampling from other brands like Toshiba, Canon and Mita. Based on their ratio of particle concentration peak value to background value, printers were...
