I noticed that the contrast ratio is only 500:1 whereas most lcd's range from 600-800:1 Is this difference very noticable for blacks and whites?

Their new stock of 2001FP's is horrible. Returned 2 before I gave up, I had major issues with one, and with the other I had 12 dead pixels. Many people are having similar experiences.
