    Router Throughput Question

I was testing via ethernet, YeOldeStonecat. Fair enough. I've been planning on upgrading to N anyways, so I'll go ahead and push that button. I just really didn't expect my throughput to be that limited, given it's base 100. Oh well. So it goes. Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

    Router Throughput Question

I bought a modem (Motorola SB6120) to get rid of my leased modem. During the setup process, with the modem hooked up directly to the computer, I ran the speakeasy test and got speeds around 45,000 kb. When I reconnected my trusty wrt54g running dd-wrt (v23sp2), my up stayed the same, but my...

    Video card fan 'reving'

Well, went through the RMA. I was very impressed with the support staff, and the RMA process itself is thusfar very smooth. Thanks for the help, everyone!

    Video card fan 'reving'

Striped all the non-essentials out and still a no go - will test in the other machine once it's built.

    Video card fan 'reving'

That's a real relief. The only good RMA service I've had was Western Digital and Seagate, everything else was crap. If I didn't happen to have the parts handy, I'd have already started barking up that tree. Honestly, my biggest concern was trying to nail down whether it was a PSU issue or a...

    Video card fan 'reving'

Blew it off with compressed air today at lunch. No luck. Yes, tried that today at lunch too. No luck. That's next on the list. Also, as luck would have it, new parts for a new build for a friend came in today, so I'll actually have a new mobo/psu to try it on. Unfortunately, the...

    Video card fan 'reving'

The older video card (7600 or something?) does not require the 6pin. The PSU is a PC Power & Cooling S75CF 750W purchased at the same time for the sake of running the card. Since the next question is going to be about the power demands... Core 2 Duo 2.13 (usually at 3.0 but currently at...

How on earth would I set the fan speed? It won't boot, at least, not in any useful means...

    Video card fan 'reving'

There's really not much in there - that said, I'll still take it in to work tomorrow and blow it out with some air.

    Video card fan 'reving'

I bought an EVGA 9800 GT in January of this year - works great, no problems. I move, don't plug in the computer for a while, and now when I do, the video card fan will "rev" like it's trying to get up to speed and can't make it. It goes through this a few times, the motherboard beeps (longer...

WTB: Skt A Mobo OR other CPU/Mobo Combo

Howdy, My old Socket A. Epox bit the dust the other day. Looking for a replacement Socket A motherboard to replace it. Nothing fancy, something that works, will likely continue to work, and will take DDR333. Dual channel is a plus, as is gigabit (onboard or card based). OR Will...

Huge VCore Fluctuations... PSU or Mobo?

And if it's not the PSU, what else could it be?

Huge VCore Fluctuations... PSU or Mobo?

I respect that voltage fluctuations happen, but to that degree? I mean, my other machines vary about .08v, max. Is there a different means of watching the voltages on VCore? I mean, I assumed CPU-Z and speedfan would be fairly reliable. What alternatives are there?

Ahh, okay. I was only snappy because someone else asserted I didn't use the correct ram and that's why it died. Other board sold. Thanks for the interest, all.

No, I used Corsair XMS800 2 x 512. I'm not dumb, folks. I'm fairly confident the PSU undervolted the ram, as Corsair is typically very voltage finicky.
