You can purchase a 140mm fan filter for the side fan. The grill design is slightly protruding outwards, so a 120mm filter doesn't fit that well.

It is really easy to install. Just pop the cover open on the bottom and then slide it in the slot. Dell has an online manual on how ot install it if you want to take a look. As for kind/brand, any should do fine. May want to consider getting the lifetime warranty at least.

Haved used a Pioneer DVR108 and LG4163B. Both are great burners. Noticed that the LG is a bit quieter though. Pioneer does have the DVR109 out now but it should be just as good. Couldn't go wrong with either choice.

You may want to take a look at the Dell 700m. I think it'll suite your gf's needs quite well.

The weight in the mx1000 does take a bit of time to get use to. But it really isn't that big of a deal. Within a few hours, I got use to it and gaming seems perfectly fine.

Still have the first computer that I have ever got. My dad still uses it. Here are the specs: Pentium I 133mhz 48mb ram 8mb ATI Xpert 98 vid card 1.6gb HD Ram and vid card were upgraded. It's currently running Windows 200 Professional pretty well. Dad uses it on occasion.

I agree with the 700m. Got a friend that just got his and it is very nice. Great size and quite portable as well. Screen looks good. The keyboard is a bit compact, some of the keys are smaller which may make it difficult to type if you have big hands. But other than that, a great laptop for school.

Tmpgenc DVD Authoring 1.5/1.6 will handle what you want to do.

I don't notice any lag. That's probably because I don't lift the mouse that high. It is a bit on the heavy side which does take time to adjust to. Other than that, it is a great mouse. Batteries last about 2 weeks until it reaches the last bar.

He's right. Set the Back and Forward buttons to Generic Button. Then it'll work fine.

I tried FireFox but don't really like the layout for some reason. Seems so simplistic for some reason. But the browser is super fast at displaying webpages though. I prefer Opera over any browser. Unfortunately, not all sites can properly be displayed. So for anything else, I use Maxthon.

It's not hard at all to do it in Maxthon. Go to Window > Tile Vertically/Horizontally... shortcut is F6/Shift+F6.

I think I know what you mean... Is it like this??? If it is, then Opera can do it. Also, Maxthon can do it too which is based on IE so you won't run into trouble with some websites not working in Opera.
