Watercooling - not impressed so far!

There is a performance hit with the coolant you are using compared to water. Not sure how much. There might be some other problems with pc ice. http://reviews.pcapex.com/cooling/primochill_pc_ice_coolant.php http://www.forumapex.com/extreme_cooling/65857-primochill_ice_problem.html

How low is too low flow?

Huh? My true microchannel block (lytron cp-20) never had problems with clogging. I didn't even use any sort of filter.

Slipping 3/8" tubing over 1/2" fittings

Yeah, it is safe. I have 3/8" ID Tygon r-3603 stretched over 1/2" OD barbs and also 1/2" ID stretched over 5/8" OD barbs. No need to heat the tubing up, I just forced it on there. Been running without hose clamps this way for over 3 years.

Temporarily cutting off coolant flow in a pipe...

http://www.mcmaster.com has several flow-control tube clamps in plastic or metal on page 152 of their catalog. I made my own out of scrap materials I already had laying around. I used some 1/4" aluminum rod and some 8-32 nylon screws to make mine. You can see it in lower left.

    I have too much money?

You can't use a peltier with the tdx because it does not have enough cooling area to cover the whole hot side.

    Waterpump/tubing

What pump did you buy? The Eheim 1250 has 3/4" (suction side) and 1/2" (pressure side) barbs on it. You can probably force fit 1/2" ID tubing onto the 3/4" OD barb and not have to change out any fittings. Eheim pump specs. http://www.eheim.com/technik_pumpen.htm If you do need to change...

Yo who makes this case? Does anyone know?

No idea who makes the case at xicomputer. The sx1440 was made by chenming and is still available in beige. The model number is ATX-801F. I have a modded 801F and it is a dream to work with because of all the room and the super duty removable mobo tray. http://www.chenming.com/cases/801f.htm

Help me settle a disagrement, is a water additive needed?

Nickel is fine with tap or distilled. Most of these additives are automotive products that should never be used in the home. Before using any additive you should read its MSDS and be sure this is something you want to possibly be exposed to. Galvanic metal table link...

    Waterproofing a motherboard

A conformal coating would be best but can get expensive depending on what type you use. You can probably get away with using a laquer based electronics sealer if you are very careful with its application. I have had good luck with the SPRAY ON type available at grainger.

Fucker took out my brand new mobo and and new cpu as well. Really dissappointed in this unit to say the least. Just plugging it into my ups with it not hooked to anything - it blows the breaker in the ups. What a POS. edit: it was running fine for 2 weeks and then it shit the bed.
