Yes, I meant just the case. I was thinking that you just made the purchase and I haven't seen one for sale recently, not that I've been looking, and thought you might have spent an entire computer budget on that case.

In a perfect world, yes, it would. But considering gpu card manufacturers don't always have vertically oriented motherboard cases on mind when they design their cards' heatsinks and the current and near future of the gpu landscape dictates that we cannot pick and choose what card we can buy...
Of course you'd need a longer riser cable, it'd have to twist 90°. But that particular model is ment to sit on top of a traditional case's power supply shroud. No screws necessary. It doesn't connect to the pic slots on the back of the case like most other vertical mounting mechanism. So why do...
Tony Ou
Would this work in the bottom of the case?

Or they could do a riser cable to a traditional case's vertical gpu mount.
Of course this case is not a vertical oriented mother board, but there is nothing stopping silverstone from making a vertical gpu mount like this in their vertical motherboard cases.
I have a huge dilemma; SIlverstone just announced their new 184i, 180mm fans that I was going to buy 3 of to replace the orignial 181s in my ft-02. But, now I'm seriously contemplating buying this torrent. If I do that, I'm going to wasting my money on those 184is... decisions decisions...
Man, I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for Silverstone to release or even just announce a ft-02 successor and meanwhile fractal just showed off their new Torrent case. I've been putting off a new case waiting on Silverstone and this Torrent is really tempting. Silverstone better hurry...
Thanks! Those cases look great. Just hope the S1 isn't too far behind or, gasp, canceled.
Also can we expect any surprises not covered in that interview?
I simply can't find another case that ticks all the boxes for me. I want a large case. I want a left side case. I want good air flow. I don't want 5.25s.
Nothing comes closet to even approaching my ft-02 in air flow, even with its 10 year old fans. Also people have had bad experiences with the...
Oh
Oh it's not practical, it very very large. It's 30cm wide, 60cm long, and 78cm tall.
The modern aspect come with the removal of useless 5 and a quarter nonsense, a separate power supply compartment that can house radiators or 5.25 drives for those that don't know any better, or 3.5s. The...
Or they could make another triple 180mm fan case again that has the graphic card mounted horizontal-vertically, like most modern cases attached by a riser cable.
Like my mock design of a modern ft02
You can't have a right windowed case without the mother board being rotated 90°, chimney stile, or 180°, invented. Otherwise you'd just see the motherboard's backplate...
there is a separate raven case in the works. the f1 is supposed to be the successor to the fortress series, hence the 'f' in the name, apparently. the alta s1 is something new entirely and be the panicle of siliverstone's ability, hence the 's' for silverstone, apparently.
i couldn't agree...
you dont understand what "flagship" means. the f1 was intended to be a mid level case. but now due to manufacturing problems, not stated, but most likely covid related, the price is going up. so it's going to be a high priced mid level case.
if you followed the f1 at all since its first...

They have been demoing it since 2019 and Tony said it's further along in development than the s1. So hopefully it will release in the year.

The f1 was set to be a mid level case. Granted a very sexy and impressive mid level case, but silverstone has always had 250 cases and even 400 cases. Mid hundred cases are not flagship cases.
The s1 is more of a halo piece...
That'd be the alta s1. The f1 was supposed to be really competitively priced at 180ish usd, if I remember correctly. That's why he said they are so sad to miss their intended price point. If I had to guess, I'd say they might put it at 250 now. In which case, I'd have to pass. Simply because I...
While these both are on the larger side, I found two that should work.

Not sure about build quality, thermal performance, or availability though. As I...
I saw the video where GN said that they might be working on a case, but I never would have dreamed it was with silverstone. If that is true now, I will be waiting for sure!!
That's great news. With wording like 'suspended' I was worried that it was shelved to never be returned to. Thanks, I'll continue with my ft-02 and hope 2021 goes by as quickly as 2020 and everything in the world starts to go back to a bit of normalcy
Tony Ou, so I just read that the new Raven case's , in addition to the Alta S1's development have been suspended.
Is there any possibility of a new high end case from Silverstone being released in 2021?
I don't mind waiting if I have to, but I rather buy one of Silverstone's amazing cases to...
