AG coatings and the effects on image quality?

I got the display today (Dell 2413) and the AG is glossier than any other LCD ive used before... Although horrible aggressive AG coatings on early Dell's were one of biggest causes for people wanting to remove them apparently they went to the other extreme with this model. Zero reason to attempt...

AG coatings and the effects on image quality?

I came across people removing the protective AG layer on some monitors, seemed pretty crazy considering the risk but after seeing what this film actually looks like it starts to make sense. Coming from a CRT where glossy coatings seem to be the norm I figure removing AG layer may be a worthwhile...

    LG 48CX

So Windows will use a wider colorspace, is that all? it would need to be scaled down to srgb for most media/sites anyway, right? better contrast - does that have anything to do with Windows/software or is it just down to contrast ratio of HDR displays?

    LG 48CX

What does HDR in windows/games actually do? Google tells you that a HDR display is requird to use it and that it will makes things look better... but what is going under the hood?

6 bit FRC vs True 8 bit?

Ok, just to be clear you are talking about 8bit+FRC to 10bit, not 8bit to 10bit? If differences are that clear for the 8bit+FRC to 10bit transition then 6bit+FRC must be especially limited compared to 8 bit. You kinda piqued my interest in 10 bit displays aswell, but being on Windows and using...

6 bit FRC vs True 8 bit?

Massive jump in what? Viewing 10bit content or all content? As you say you went from limited to wider gamut display, which going to be the biggest difference and if uncalibrated will show stronger colours.

6 bit FRC vs True 8 bit?

Anyone who has owned/compared true 8bit and 6bit+FRC monitors, did you discern a difference? All discussion I can find outside of pro photography is basically reduced to 'the difference is too small to matter'. There is a difference obviously, it's the reason a professional market exists for...

    24" Widescreen CRT (FW900) From Ebay arrived,Comments.

I've kinda stopped gaming so the 4:3 aspect ratio and blurriness of my CRT are becoming a bit of a pain for general use/browsing, I already have an XL2411 from before the CRT and this just looks atrocious in comparison with washed out colours and horrible contrast even after calibration , even...

    24" Widescreen CRT (FW900) From Ebay arrived,Comments.

Im getting a problem with my DP2070SB, every few hours the screen will start to fluctuate down in brightness, when this happens knocking the side of the monitor does seem to help, it will often fix it for second or few minutes, and after a while it seems to fix it itself. Hitting a CRT to get...

    24" Widescreen CRT (FW900) From Ebay arrived,Comments.

The DP cable on it actually seems to be decent quality so not going to bother with that. I still got the VGA gender adapter though, basically had to set up my PC so that it was behind the CRT with its GPU outputs facing it to be able to plug it in with existing short DP cable on the converter...

    24" Widescreen CRT (FW900) From Ebay arrived,Comments.

I got delock 62967 (ANX9847) today and really pleased for the price. pixel clock is more than high enough, at around 1800 x 1350 is where pixel clock limit start to overtake the horizontal scan limit of my DP2070sb which is where it already becomes kind of pointless to trade refresh rate for...
