FS Ncase M1 V5, Corsair SF600 SFX PSU, Noctua Fans, Xbox One 500gb console

Hi Hardforum, I am selling a few things from my computer room. 1. NCase M1 V5 ~ I had to rebuild my computer in a bigger case. So I am selling my beloved NCase M1 V5 super small SFX case. If you don't know about this case there's a long thread about it here. Long story short, I love this case...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Sadly, as much as I loved using this case, I had to rebuild my machine when Nvidia RMA'd my GPU with a graphics card which no longer fit into the Ncase M1. Sucked, I loved this case and didn't want to rebuild. Alas, now I have already rebuilt my machine and I need to sell the Ncase M1. I have a...

1080ti blank/blue/green screens crashing or white squares crashing/rebooting

Hey all, Thank you very much for your collective input. I requested an RMA and I will report back when the replacement gets here! To me it didn't make total sense to just stare at the 12V voltage reading without the machine being under load, but the tech at EVGA suggested I go into BIOS and...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Thank you for the help! That’s the one I was looking at. Appears out of stock at the moment but I will setup a notification. Good to know about the Coolermaster 850 Sfx. I’ll keep a watch out for it.

1080ti blank/blue/green screens crashing or white squares crashing/rebooting

Thanks for your reply! Do you mean it was the video card or the PSU that failed? I can still RMA the video card for another month! The PSU is under warranty for an additional 4 years.

1080ti blank/blue/green screens crashing or white squares crashing/rebooting

Thank you for your reply. One thing I want to point out: When I use MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision to *LIMIT* the ultimate power of the card to 95% or less, the problems go away. Still think GPU failure? Thank you. MIDIBoss

1080ti blank/blue/green screens crashing or white squares crashing/rebooting

Hello all, I have a 1080ti. Bought it new in 2017. I'm literally a month away from RMA warranty no longer being good on it. This year because of Covid I started gaming a lot more. I got a 4K LG OLED TV about a year ago. I always gamed in 4K since then, it's awesome. In March I started having...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Hello all, I have an Ncase M1 V5. I love it. I believe I am experiencing PSU issues. I currently have Corsair SF600 watt PSU installed. 3 years old. I never had problems until I started gaming in 4K. Now I get random crashes to blank, blue, green, black screens which require a hard reset of the...

Complicated setup question - GPU or FW card in m.2 slot?

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Thanks for the idea! I definitely thought about that, and technically it would work (PCI works on that slot) but unfortunately the only m.2 to PCI-e adapter I could find with good reviews has a PCI-e receiver that is too tall for the side of the case to be able to close, even if you bent the...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Thanks! Yeah, re: the Firewire card ribbon cable, as you can see, in order for it to work I had to bend it back over on itself and flip it up the opposite side of the GPU. The fact that there's really only a few MM of clearance between the FW card and the GPU front fans meant I thought it would...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Very stoked about this! I built a custom PC in an Ncase M1 V5 about a year and a half ago. i7 8700k OC'ed to 5.0ghz, 32gb of OC'ed RAM, 1080ti SC2 from EVGA, Samsung 960 Pro 1TB m.2 NVME SSD, and it ran awesome! I primarily used it as a music performance machine for running all my .vst synths...

Complicated setup question - GPU or FW card in m.2 slot?

Well, it friggiin' worked and now I have a raging mini-itx gaming machine with hi-fi audio interface capabilities over Firewire! Can't believe it. Thank you for all your helpful posts. This was a bit complicated but check it out! 1. Moved the SSD m.2 NVME to the bottom slot of the mobo. Checked...

Complicated setup question - GPU or FW card in m.2 slot?

Thanks very much for your reply and your input! Ah yes, you are very correct. I just came to that realization while researching. I'll go ahead and try it the way you mentioned, FW card in the top m.2 slot and GPU in the x16 slot. I don't think I'll hook it up wrong but I was just worried since...

Complicated setup question - GPU or FW card in m.2 slot?

I built a computer about a year and a half ago in an Ncase M1 case. It's awesome and fast and I love it. Only thing is I have to make some adjustments now and I am confused and bewildered and need some help! Here was the original setup: Asus z270-itx motherboard EVGA 1080ti SC2 G.skill 32gb...

Assetto Corsa Competizione Has Been Released to Early Access on Steam

ACC is incredible, in case anyone is interested! My opinion of course, but I love it. So much realism and overall a step up from AC1 graphically. I'm only a casual racer, but I like sims more than "games", so take my opinion with a grain of salt but overall I feel completely immersed and can't...

Looking for high quality wireless gaming mouse

Huh strange. I do not use the bluetooth connection with the G602. I use a USB dongle that came with it. Did they discontinue that option with the G603? The USB dongle has a perfect connection.

Looking for high quality wireless gaming mouse

I absolutely love my Logitech G602. The AA batteries in it last forever and it's super solid performing. Looks/feels slick and very ergonomic too. Works on any surface. I got mine on sale at Microcenter for $40!

    Custom case

I would love something justa little tiny bit bigger than an Ncase M1 so you could install an ATX board in it. I need a small portable case but I also want 2 PCIe slots.

Intel's 9th Generation Core Family - Coffee Lake (Refresh)

My 5ghz OC'ed 8700k is SEARING already so I have no plans to upgrade to this one. Does anyone know how the OC'ing is looking on these yet? I would expect that more cores would = less speed and more power draw which would mean higher temps even if they're able to be clocked as high. Any word on...

4 Dead - 11 Wounded at Jacksonville FL Video Game Tournament

Wow so terrible and senseless. How do people's minds get so far distorted towards doing something like this without friends or family noticing there's something off mentally before one of these happens? I have friends in Jacksonville. Was glad to find out they are ok. I love playing Madden with...

Will Asus z390-i have Thunderbolt finally?

I appreciate that. And I don't mean to sound like I think Asrock is low quality or less good than any other brand... As a matter of fact I just remembered: When I was building my system last fall I was waiting and waiting for the i7 8700K to come out. I really wanted Thunderbolt but the only...

Will Asus z390-i have Thunderbolt finally?

That's true. I forgot about that, but now I remember I read some negative reports about the quality of those boards as well as CS and that's why I decided to go with Asus ROG since they seemed to have a better reputation. I am hoping Asus will release z390-i boards with TB onboard.

Will Asus z390-i have Thunderbolt finally?

I really need Thunderbolt for some of my audio interface stuff. Will z390 (especially the Asus z390-i motherboard which is what I'll want) have it, finally? Hard to believe we are still without Thunderbolt on these platforms... Thanks, M

    7700K delid fail?

Sorry about that. Yeah you have to buy the kits.I got the Rockit.88 kit. I left the CPU inside of the cutout half to support the CPU while I used a plastic razor blade to pull off the old adhesive. This keeps it from bending or breaking it while you're cleaning it off prepping for relid. I know...

RME soundcards Babyface Pro, UCX, etc. and latency crackling

Holy cow, what a setup! Thank you for sharing. Very very cool. I have never heard of Bidule. I'll check it out! That's impressive you're using hardware FX with your setup. I thought about buying a card that would allow for that, since there are just some things that Ihave never found a direct...

Cheapest way to get a really fast cross-platform external SSD?

Howdy folks, What's the cheapest way to get an external hard SSD drive? I am assuming that it would be buying a SataIII SSD and putting it into a USB enclosure. Would the USB enclosure slow it down a lot? Is there a better option? I need something really fast for tansferring large audio work...

RME soundcards Babyface Pro, UCX, etc. and latency crackling

Cheers Sycraft, thanks a lot for your thoughts! I agree, the workflow works really well for everything I've tried to do with it so far. I did switch the mixing to 64-bit as you mentioned could be done. Re: Sound quality, on the flipside, I went back and compared both programs (Cubase vs...

RME soundcards Babyface Pro, UCX, etc. and latency crackling

Hey Sycraft, So I downloaded a trial of Cubase on your recommendation. Overall, other than the dongle which is a minor thing, I love it! It is always daunting learning a new DAW and this one is fairly complicated to me, but after a few hours I was able to figure out how to get it playing...

Thanks Sycraft! I tried disabling hyperthreading. It appeared to help even more with polyphony on big patches. Very cool, thanks for the tip. RME soundcards Babyface Pro, UCX, etc. and latency crackling

Hey guys, thought I'd give an update. I got the RME Babyface Pro in the mail a few days ago. Only had time to do a little testing until today when I did a lot of trial & error in Reaper. So far, it seems like a real improvement over the Avid Mbox Mini. Latency wasn't really an issue before in...
