Please report back when you get it :).
FYI: only one reviewer on youtube for the 50" version and they claimed it has the "fake" 4k ala LG with 4:2:0 chroma. Should be perfectly fine for anything but displaying text.
This is what kept me from getting it. Not sure what it actually means for...
Yeah mostly for 3D rendering + AI / cuda experiments. I did want to do my best to support SLI if possible but I'm getting the sense that it actually might not be better in some games.
Truthfully, I am going to wait and see what the newer amd CPU offers but I have been looking for ryzen motherboards that support more than two cards, the highest I saw was 4 and it was about $500+. There doesn't seem to be one for 3 way SLI. Truthfully I care mostly about the cuda cores +...
Thank you for that, yeah I did some research on the amperes on 12v rail, about 49a so might be okay.
I don't overclock any of my components but good to know.
Looking to upgrade for cuda cores (not gaming).
Either going with another 970 or adding a 1050ti
Problem is I have this PSU:
EVGA - 80 PLUS 600W ATX 12V/EPS 12V...
As far as I can tell, my current motherboard would be able to support at least one other card no problem. But no more?

ASUS 970 PRO GAMING/AURA AM3+ AMD 970 + SB 950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX AMD Motherboard
Hopefully I can...
I would love to support AMD but they seem to not be the best for this type of work (i.e octane).
I might still go with a new ryzen build too, even if it means no hackinstosh (probably super difficult hackintosh if its even possible).
I see, I mostly ask because a while back, sometimes the higher end nvidia cards would support less monitors than a random lower end card that was not so great for games but good if you just wanted like 5 monitors.
Such a shame :(. my gtx970 is ghetto version I suppose.
I was actually thinking of either (#1) selling it (#2) buying a 950ti when it goes on sale again and just using both (I am using this PC mainly for GPU based 3D renderers, I will have to investigate how it scales. (#3) add another 970...
Not for gaming, just for displaying 4k@60hz.
Any that are not super expensive?
Bonus:
What are the video cards that support the most monitors (not 4k) (also good value)?
Thanks
It worked at 60hz with the active adapter I linked. Would have been nice to be able to add 3 of them @ 60hz. I wonder if it would work with 2 of them @60hz? (would need another adapter + monitor to test)
Not for gaming, just for desktop use.
I have one of these:
MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GD5T OC Video Card
On Newegg ebay:

I know it can support one 4k@60hz with chroma 4:4:4 on the HDMI port. I assume I need a display port to HDMI 2.0 for the next 4k...
:) I will have to try G-Sync after I buy a few more 4k monitors.
I didn't realize that the Samsung 6290 was a VA panel. I honestly thought it was IPS. Maybe I am wrong. Either way, I am really happy with it and only noticed an annoyance when it was set to 30hz, at 60 hz its perfect for me...
Very nice. My favorite part is that your monitors go below and not just stack up. That's smart thinking, I will have to plan my own system around this concept :)
Do you use the 1080TI for the AI stuff or is it mostly for gaming? Since you said you only have it hooked up to one monitor. What...
Sweet. What size monitors and pc are you running? Since you do development, what kind of stuff do you do and how do you use the monitors? One machine or Synergy?
I was wondering your decision to use the wider screens as your main instead of the 4k 40"? You mostly game / watch movies so they are better for that? Or the fact that you have 3 similar sized monitors
Thank you for your response. Yeah, I am looking at the LG OLED55C6P (curved but only one to support 3D).
Yeah, I think you are right, such a shame, I am seeing that 3D for movies seems to be dead at the consumer level too :'(. I still have a 720p 3D Vision projector but I didn't get it setup...
Hi guys,
Looking for some advice.
I think I am going to go with a 4k OLDE 55" or maybe bigger. It seems an LG OLED of this size would work okay as a PC monitor if I sit a few feet back and have a large desk.
My question is, do I need to look up a list for nvidia 3d vision TVs? I have the...
Thanks, yeah it looks like I will need an adapter. Sorry, that link did not work for me.
Is this what I want?

Hi,
I'm on the latest OSX. With a late 2015 rMBP 15".
I am not seeing a PC mode. tried all HDMI ports, going to assume I am to use HDMI port 1?
Updated TV Software Version to: 1168

That's a good point. I just found my core 2 duo macbook pro was struggling with youtube video playback. Maybe there is a way to lock youtube at a lower resolution.
I have a surface pro gen 1 which is amazing little machine for the price, just the keyboard is kind of lacking. If I could get...
What do you guys recommend (used market is totally fine)?
Battery life would be nice but it is low low budget.
Mostly to use for programming + basic tasks. Playing youtube videos would be nice at 1080p.
I seem to see a lot of first gen i5s but not sure what might be a good idea? Maybe...
I've been seeing videos of people using thin clients to do all kinds of stuff lately.
I have a two starter projects in mind:
1) toy linux web server
2) toy webcam systems throughout home
I would like to use something that is very low power for the webcam project at least. So I am thinking a...
