I've configured my BIOS correctly (although I notice the drives do not appear under the "Standard CMOS Features" menu on my bios)
I've configured the RAID array correctly (the array is detected on boot up)
I've inserted my WinXP CD to...
I installed the new RAM and I can get it to boot when not using raid.
but i cant get to the bios screen once the raid setting has been turned on.
plus I cant get to the raid setup screen, it just tries to detect a raid array
i guess this is now a mobo prob.
I'm
This is the RAM
It's PC 2100 which I thought meant it ran at 133MHz, but the spec sheet seyz 266 MHz
This is the mobo
Biostar NF325-A7, compatible with DDR 333/400
what happens if you have incompatible ram in your system?? the mobo/cpu is new and I'm having...
I got a new BIOSTAR NF325-A7.
After setting up my system for mirror RAID, I successfully booted up my pc.
Windows kept crashing, so i decided play around with the raid settings
Now when i boot up, I cant reach the BIOS screen setup. It goes from the mobo splash screen (white with biostar...
i have a PII 350 MHz, mobo, ram, case that work but i have no realy use for.
i just used dell to recycle an old monitor, but that didnt work anymore
what do ou do with old working h/w?
fine but i still need to get the data off the old drive onto the new. will making a one hd drive stripe array remove all the info?
the old == 175 gb the new == 160 gb so copying the old is not possible
ok so I have 3 drives, one with existing data (that I want to keep) and two identical new hds.
This is the setup i want:
old hd is the boot hd, with the old information kept on it
the 2 new hds act as a data repository (moved from old hd when all is said and done), thus i would like to...
so when i connect my slave hd to the ide, the pc fails to boot (nothing is recognized on the entire cable). it gives 2 warning whines (they sound like whines) and then stalls.
with only the master attached everything is fine.
im trying another cable and ide slot, but im not keeping any...
so i got a lappy, that came with Windows and some OEM software installed.
I'd like to partition the drive and reinstall windows using a copy of full winxp that I have (non-oem)
however, theres custom laptop software that i'd need, like the touchpad thingy (or is that a winxp setting) and...
so I set up a wireless home network and shared a folder on my cable-connected desktop running win2k.
users allowed are only admin level user and newly created "User" account.
now regardless of which user i log in as i cant access the folder, from the desktop machine or any other machine in...

ok this might seem like a strange question but here goes.
So my mobo has a slot labeled as a usb expansion connection. The mobo also came with usb expansion ports exactly like the ones here
Except the slot on the mobo is a different size than those on the usb cables
