so when i connect my slave hd to the ide, the pc fails to boot (nothing is recognized on the entire cable). it gives 2 warning whines (they sound like whines) and then stalls.

with only the master attached everything is fine.

im trying another cable and ide slot, but im not keeping any hopes.

its irreparably broken isnt it? dammit.


it had been acting funny (making abnormally loud crunching noises, freezing the pc) so tried to move all the data off of it, but couldnt get everything in time.

YYAARRGGHH!!!!

i'll try the freezer trick this weekend if nothing else works. :( :( :mad:
