i was interested in this, but then i realized it is set specifically in the Dark Feces universe, i.e. you are facing off against "Legion" instead of "Skynet" so... hard pass
which is basically pillow talk for "we don't understand coding and Unreal Engine well enough to create save states for large maps"
anyway, despite the save annoyance, i'm really enjoying this game. if you find it persnickety, just stick with it - you'll start whizzing through menus...
i enjoy both franchies (sans the current Motorsport..) but my hope is that Assetto Corsa 2 comes out swinging and pushes the genre forward. the fact that they've been extremely tight-lipped about its development is either a VERY good or a VERY bad sign... but i'm leaning towards good.
same.. for $10 the new additions are perfectly fine. i would recommend it to any fan of the game w/ a ps5.
ps: anyone watch the "Grounded II" making-of featurette? neil druckmann strongly hints at the very end about tlou part 3. it's nothing CLOSE to a 'confirmation' but that being said...
haha, that's the first question that popped into my head when pondering all this talk of MS making their games multiplatform. Forza on Playstation would literally melt my brain
most people don't know the specifics of how to operate an f-18 or a uh-1 huey, but dcs world still prides itself on accuracy for a reason
that's kinda how simulations work
so who else tried the demo?
there's one aspect i don't like, and it's already drawing some attention, which is the save system. you can't save your progress mid-mission, so if you're 30 mins into a "run" and you have to log off for whatever reason, your progress isn't saved. this is the same...
oh it was definitely whiny wokeness behind skull & bones' rocky development.
earlier today i tripped on a shoe someone didn't put back on the shoe rack and spilled half a bowl of cookie crisps. so fucking sick of wokeness ruining everything.
it's the brief "intro", tutorial segment in the home base/garage, and one small level/mission. if you take your time and explore everything, a couple hours maybe. otherwise about 30-40 mins i'd guess
this is so fucking weird... like there's the legal battle between Nexon and the Dark & Darker dev, and then this game looks like a carbon copy of Dark & Darker. Way, way more than games like Ashen ape the Souls games... this is like control c, control v type shit.
it does (each module has training missions/tutorials that show you the basics of how to operate the aircraft, weapon systems, etc) and they're pretty good, but lacking imho in teaching newbs how to deal with the types of threats you face in actual missions. like the training missions for the...
i'd love to see a game that mixes dark descent, fireteam elite, and isolation - first person perspective, more emphasis on horror than fireteam elite, and the more hardcore gameplay of dark descent with emphasis on tactics. and heck, add in a character creator and a branching plot with dialogue...
just start out with the two free included aircraft, the Frogfoot and the TF-51 (a training version of the P-51D Mustang.) the paid modules are (to varying degrees, of course) much more complex and can be overwhelming for someone who may be new to realistic flight sims.
yep, the trilogy of good games is alien isolation (first person atmospheric horror), aliens fireteam elite (third person action), and aliens dark descent (isometric tactical strategy)
yeah this game runs like absolute dogshit. i can't maintain 60 fps on my 3080 ti at 1440, with DLSS and several settings dropped... easily the worst performing game i've come across in a long time. bummer because it does seem pretty cool outside of the tech issues.
lol even if they moved out of Ukraine earlier in the war, moving an entire development studio (and staff, assuming it isn't a 100% work from home situation) is a huge clusterfuck that puts almost everything on hold for a while
i agree, i like a constant sense of mystery and flirting with the unknown. it just seems like the problems arise when it's time to conclude such stories, as either you leave many things unanswered (which angers one group of players who say "wow, all that time invested and i still don't have many...
i'm defintely picking this up at launch. i really dig the vibe and i love the twist on the survival formula of having it be vehicle-centric. only things i can see that i'm not a huge fan of generally are the delivery of plot being (from what we've been shown anyway) 100% in the form of radio...
it is definitely true. this is the prettiest, most well-optimized game i've played in a long time. cp2077 has the amazing ray tracing features, but as far as "holy shit this is gorgeous, buttery smooth, and i didn't have to tweak a damn thing" factor goes, it's not even close. the only thing i...
