If it means anything to you the last time I bought an HDD from Newegg it came shipped in a plastic clamshell in a box 4 times bigger than a shoe box with brown paper on top of the drive. The little paper they used did not keep it from moving in the box. The drive's clamshell was touching the...
Ditto, had an early Crucial SSD go bad it just died with no warning. My young, at the time, son's first PC purchase. Crucial wanted to give him a prorated warranty replacement of 20% off his next SSD purchase. I replied and gave them the ol' "I have been using Crucial memory since back in the...
I did remember that but you had to go and connect the first PC first for it to work if I remember correctly. The router lets any PC initiate the connection. (Remember setting up an app to connect so you would not hit the busy time and end up with a busy signal?)
I attached the quote from 2000...
I can check my old PC if you still want it and see if it still has a dial-up modem in it. No more modems in my parts bin.
Oh man reminds me of the olden days. I had a router with a serial port that would dial out to my ISP to share 54k speed across my network. Heck, when I got cable internet...
It's why I paid a few extra dollars so I would not need to flash, trying to save a bit of time during the busy season. Guess I better learn how and flash.
Update
The card shows in windows Device manager as an LSI Adapter, SAS2 2308 Mustang. Instead of the IBM M5110 8 Port 6 Gbps PCI-E SAS/SATA IT MODE OR the firmware p20 LSI 9207-8I
I put the SSD on a sata to USB and it shows right away. (so I know the drive is good)
I put the PC to sleep removed...
I was thinking about that, I dropped the card in my main box. When I powered up the drive (I used external power) it temporarily shut off my PC then froze Diskpart until I shut off the drive.
I tried a different drive with the same results.
Device manager saw the sas but as a different model...
I got a server from work, I installed an SSD and Proxmox. Everything worked.
I swapped out the Raid card for an HBA card.
When I did I get 4 beeps on the boot and nothing. (all beeps are the same length so manual was no help) No bios boot screen.
To test:
I swapped the video card and HBA...
With stop and go traffic trip took 8 hours, so we did not spend a lot of time there.
WOW, no one mentioned the "Radio Shack" area. Touched a few mechanical keyboards.
Didn't spend a bunch of money, new case LIAN LI LANCOOL 215 X for my wife, she picked it out. Got a 1tb NVME for her PC, for...
I have a note taped under my keyboard that reads L10WPX%ld*8()N because upside down it reads N()8*Pl%XdM017 or N()8*Pl%XdMOl7 or N()8*Pl%XdMO17or you get the idea. I hope who ever uses it lock my accounts trying. (it's not even close to my real PW).
I got to know why, do you know? He wasn't making money from it, or was he charging for Norton? (Not that it matters but he used a keygen, not a logger, at least I hope not:unsure:).
Remember them hell look at the Medal of Honor servers here: https://www.gametracker.com/search/mohaa/US/?
My kid still plays on them. 20-year-old game the fans keep it alive.
Edit to be clear, I am not sure how he connects, I just know he still plays MOHaa
Why don't they just release the DLC for free and give the servers to fans. (I know, I live in the real world and they somehow think it will eat into profit).
Oof, I released software that went through QM that read "You will loose your order if you continue". I was making a change and saw it, I was modified. (J/K I was mortified)
This may be a bit of conspiracy but I read a few things.
1. He never wanted to buy Twitter. It was a way for him to sell Tesla stock without the stock dropping to nothing before an earnings call because he knew Tesla reports would be bad. (Not sure about the earnings call, but Tesla did have a...
If I could go to only one Microcenter in Chicago which one should I go to or are they going to be the same?
Westmont, Illinois Computer Store
OR
Chicago, Illinois Computer Store
Last time I was in a computer store (not best buy) they had a router with a serial port. This was before wireless was cheap enough for me, and we still used dial-up. I didn't work in tech yet. My house was wired for Ethernet for lan parties for the family. The router was stupid cheap for the...

FYI I had a bunch of drives like this and put them in cases. I got a 4 ssd raid 0 on my machine for some steam games. It took more work than it should have to find something that would work so I included a link. You can always search for "b+m key m.2 ngff (sata) ssd to 2.5 inch sata3" to find...
Used, you know how many 3080s dropped yesterday? I hope with the promise of the 3090ti and Bitcoin is more volatile will begin a downward spiral in prices. Without Russian miners I hope the real MSRP returns and the used market stops being a scalpers paradise.
I had one (a 3070) in my BB cart...
I am waiting for 2 3070s until the hit the magic number of $500 or less. I am giving one to my son for graduating college and one for my wife, it will be surprise. She is low key jealous I am getting one and she will get my old 1080 (not sure she even knows she is jealous, but I can tell) .
I got one Yesterday! $100 more than I wanted to spend, but I am so tired of grabbing my phone every time one drops. edit. The one from newegg. I hope with the microscope on Newegg I won't get screwed. Newegg said it came from Ontario CA US. I hope I don't get dinged on the CC for outside the US...
