Our PC keeps breaking down. It will suddenly lock up and when you try to reboot it, it no longer recognizes the hard drives. When it happened on Sunday, I could not get it to work but the next day I reset the BIOS and it started working.
It went down again today and is still not working so...
Our SSD drive failed and needs replacing. We don’t want to spend the money for another SSD drive, so the new drive will be our boot drive and contain our programs. Any data stored on it will have a copy on another drive/cloud/dvd.
We are thinking about this Toshiba from New Egg...
I need to get a new internal hard drive and would like to get some recommendations. It will be 2TB or 3TB (preferable) and 7200 RPM, not on a network.
Which drives would you suggest I check out.
Thank you
Jerry

I have Windows 7 Home premium, 64-bit.
My new PC has a Crucial SSD drive which works fine, and a 2TB western Digital which seems invisible.

Danny:
What recommendation do you have for the CPU:
We just ordered the Seasonic 750 PSU
I will go with on-board sound for now, I can always add the sound card if I think I need better sound.
I'll check out the 4x4 memory prices to see what the difference is.
Thank you

If the cost are pretty close, then I would go with a 7200. RPM.
The WD Green is $110 and the WD Black is $180, to me that is not a close price.

For my new build that I am planning on making, I know I want to get a 256SSD drive (Samsung 830/840).
In addition, preferably 2TB or more drive. I have noticed that 5400 drives are becoming more popular again. My main usage for the second drive will be media storage.
Are 5400 drives worth...
Thanks for the replies, sounds like the 7950 is the way to go.
If I decided I wanted to do some mild overclocking (i.e., not having to add any extra cooling), how much could I safely do?
Do you have any recomendations as to which 7950 to get?
Stitchmanz
I am thinking about getting one of these 3 cards for a new system and would like some advise on which would be the best value for the money.
My monitor is 1920x1080.
While I am willing to buy an overclocked version of the card, I will not be doing any overclocking once I get the card...
Im thinking of building my own machine, rather than buying a pre-built one. I keep reading that it is better to build your own, but I know nothing about which parts to buy. I know that the pieces have to work with each other, but dont know where to begin.

Danny Bui: how does the Intel Core i5 2400 compare to the i7 series - I want a CPU that will last 3-4 years.
If I upgrade the memory to 16RAM, would I need to get 4x4 or do they have 2x8. I saw in another note that memory was not compatable with a heat fan. How do you know what is or is not...
