My 42" LG Plasma TV is about 2 years old and after 1 year it started suffering from "Burn In" of the last image that was on the TV before it was switched off. However, after a minute or so the "burn in" effect disappears after switching it back on. I suppose the Phosphate on the screen is...
I can absolutely, without a grain of doubt, tell you that HT helps in BF3 very much so, But only if you have enough GPU power to need it. I have tested with and without it and it does make quite a large difference in multi-GPU configurations. Now, in all games? hell no. It usually doesn't make a...
Make sure you have hyperthreading on, when I turn it off on my 2600k @5ghz it will bog down my 6970's into the 70's at times. HT on gives me 99% solid at all times.. I'm also on one screen @ 1080
Electrical tape usually doesn't age very well. Just make sure you use 3M Electrical tape if you decide to do it, I think it's called "Super 33", it's good stuff.
I recently just switched from an AMD platform to an Intel platform (MSI 890FXA-GD70+8150 to a Maximus IV Z68+2600k) and I noticed something a little odd about the GPU usage on my 6970 CFX setup. Previously with the AMD rig, using the exact same GPU drivers and the 2x 16x 2.0 config, when...
I refuse to be part of the Pussification of America. When I was a teenager my dad kicked my ass whenever I was disrespectful, which only took one time. He was a Damn good father and kept my ass in line. I fully support

Your gonna need 2 7970's for singleplayer 120+ avg. For multi you will need an equally impressive CPU to pair with the 7970's. An OCd 3930k should do very well as BF3 will utilize all cores. 1200 in gpu's and 600 in CPU is a somewhat balanced and very powerful setup.
As some of you may know, I purchased a 8150 about a month ago and I'm switching to Intel because of my growing multi-GPU setup. I'm ordering all my new stuff from Newegg on Friday and as soon as they come in, I can break down my PC and ship out the parts. Here is whats for sale:
I will combo...
Only $200 or $300? that's a chunk bro. It would take some serious self-convincing to justify that, especially given the performance of the 3930k. That's the price (200-300) of a new badass case or nice SSD. There is plenty of shit I would rather spend that money on.
I always shoot for the top tier cards, regardless of what the specs are. More VRAM is always better.
What I look for in a card:
- Highest performance possible per dollar
- Lowest operating temps
- Very low noise
- High overclock
- 2 or 3 slot design does not matter
Right now, CFX Asus 7970...
They are just gaskets, so find a cheap set. This is what I found.

I would have to disagree, the pump on mine is completely silent and at full RPM the fans sound like a commercial hair dryer and they totally drown out all noises in the room. I strongly recommend changing out the fans..
Yeah,
I'm switchin to Intel. I'm a BF3 nut with a hardware addiction.
Next weekend I'm ordering:
- 2700k @5ghz (hopefully, I'm going out on a limb for a better binned chip. Plus you get a 100mhz bump in non-turbo mode)
- ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z
- Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 16GB (4x4) DDR3...
