Yeah, it seems pretty weird that we both get stuck at the same core clock. Changing the voltage didn't seem to make a difference.
I guess everyone should be running the AMD Leo demo instead of Heaven on loop to test the stability of their clock?
1225/1790 @ 1.225v 72°c full load
I started getting a black screen under full load after running for about 15 minutes at 1250 core with no artifacts during the test - increasing the voltage above 1225 didn't seem to help.
As for the memory, if I go above 1790 I get an all white screen and...
Do you still experience the stuttering when running the game in Window mode? If not, it sounds like you're running into the 64hz bug. Read about it here: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/485708-skyrim-stuttering-64hz-bug-fix/
I believe you're required to flash the bios on that card. The Sapphire non-Dirt version has a very high success rate of just flipping the switch and then installing the card into your computer to unlock all the shaders.
The "$310 ($265, *$290 after MIR*) Sapphire 6950 2GB WITH **$20 MIR**" one will unlock to 6970 shaders just by flicking the bios switch. I had a hell of a time ordering mine in the past, as they were always out of stock, and I assume that's due to how easy they're to unlock.
Also, be sure to speak with a Newegg customer service rep after you purchase the new card. They refunded me the restocking fee on the two 6950s I returned so I could purchase a 7970.
Also, I had to use the "Desktop Management - Creating and Arranging Desktops" section in CCC when creating the Extended Desktop Preset. If I tried configuring the displays in Windows 7's display manager, the settings wouldn't stick to a preset in CCC.
You're correct, they're called Presets. I had issues configuring them as well, and I ended up having to create the Eyefinity preset first and then the Extended desktop preset afterward for it to work.
Currently, I have two unlocked 2GB 6950s in Crossfire and I'm using them at 6048x1200. I paid $240 per card and I have the option of returning these cards.
Now that the 7970 is so close to release, does anyone know if the performance will be the same as two unlocked 6950s at Eyefinity...
Like you, I've been having stuttering issues as well when using Eyefinity and Crossfire. I've just been living with it, as it seems to go away in different zones where my FPS is below 60.
The real issue here is that Skyrim, Oblivion, and Fallout 3 have a known stuttering problem. If you play...
I had a similar issue when Crossfire was enabled. My solution was uninstalling Sapphire Trixx (OC software) and I haven't had any BSODs/locks since. This was happening even at stock clocks with Trixx installed. I've read this can happen with MSI Afterburner as well, so if you've got that...
I'm sorta in the boat.
I've just recently purchased two 2GB 6950s and unlocked them to 6970s. However, due to the news of the 7xxx being released in Q1 2012, I'm starting to wonder if I should return these cards and wait till 7xxx is released. I paid $480 for both cards and I don't really...
