i've got to get some new pics up. i've also switched ot my GTX580 ROG Matrix with a 660ti SC, here's how ti's cooling for now, the gap in the 7 day scale is when i switched from air to water:
Ok, time for a major cooling system overhaul (and replacing my GTX570 with an ASUS GT580 ROG Matrix, but more on that one later):
2 MCR360QPs with 6 Corsair SP120 Perf:
I left a 1mm gap between the rads to run all the power cords through:
All the fans are plugged into a Phobya 4pin to 6 x 3...
Here's where i started, a fresh GTX570 Classified RMA.
The new cooling bits:
Removal of the upper fan shroud:
The bare board ready for it's new cooling gear:
The Swifttech unisink installed:
New with the MCW82 and a Coolermaster 80mm cooling fan:
...And the eVGA back plate (i...
Got that fitting replaced today, but still working on getting an air bubble our of it... but here are some shots:
Also got a rough cut on my window, though i found out my U-Channel isn't wide enough to fit this case panel, so i have some more coming:
i haven't done any temp testing yet, as i want to give my AC5 a few days to set up, and i still have to get the intake fitting on the CPU block replaced (have it here, just haven't gotten around to it). i actually had to add a bit of water the other morning as it had dropped to the bottom of the...
Time to transplant into a new case, went for the FT03 in Titanium. Got the case in last night, stripped it all the way done, and taking it into the shop today to start cutting it up for a full water loop...
Goals:
Move as much as possible and replacing what doesn't fit form my Fractal Arc...
(reposting this here form a conversation in another thread, but it seems relevant. this conversation was discussing the pros/cons of adding a second video card to the system as to only has 1 monitor running on the main card)
ok, drum roll please!
so i was able to pick up the card at fry's...
thanks. that's how i started this, and just decided since i was doing a lot of BOINCing, i should go ahead and add another. if i did need all the drives, i've seen both hd trays pulled out and another 240mm put up there, but that leaves nothing for drives (with my res/pump in the 5.25" bays).
those temps where taken after 1 hour at 100% GPU and 98% CPU using BOINC to max them out. right now, my idle temps on the CPUs are 32C, and around 46C on the GPU (GPU is running 2 monitors, with 1 unplugged, GPU temps drop to about 37C).
Well, after getting paid for 15.4 hours at double time today (boss offered me double time if i would come in and help us get caught up), I was in such a great mood, i decided to go ahead and put my new bits in place, what think?

Got my new Rad up and in, leak checked and (hopefully) fully bled. i'll post some temp runs once everything gets seated in. My current flow order is:
Res/Pump -> CPU -> GPU -> EX120 -> RS240
Not much air going through the EX120 though, since it only has a case fan scythe on it, so i'll be...
was really liking the way my UV lighting was looking in my Raystorm, but I wanted it to be a little brighter, so I pulled out the 2000mcd LEDs and replaced them with some 3000mcd ones:

you are correct, they are the crankshaft timing gear off '07 and newer Mini Cooper S engines (i'm a mechanic and there's a campaign to replaced the timing components).
Been working on some mods all week, got the last fan painted last night, and finished soldering the new lights up, whata ya think?
i'll try to get some pics tonight when it's dark :D
finally got a chance to do one of the projects i've had waiting. i got a used GTX470 back plate from EK used off the forums, and wanted to install it on my air cooled card. after some research and trial and error, i found the screws shipped with the plate are M3 screws, however the air cooler...
ok, just finished redoing my water loop, i had cut one hose too long and my pump/res won't fit properly. so, here we go:

the fan at the bottom is a 120X38mm. have since moved it (and a new twin) to the top rad, and will be putting another white Fractal Design fan at the bottom, visible through the window. also, i finally got my loop in, here's a teaser...
yeah, those are both cut with 4.5" hole. i just drilled and small pilot hole and ran the drill at slow speed until it was well grooved into the metal. then i would speed it up, i did this to prevent the saw from jumping and scratching the surface. both of those where cut from the outside in, i...
when i've cut holes in my cases, i just empty them out, and cut the holes with a hole saw and clean out the case with an air gun, here's a couple of examples of how that can turn out:
intake in the bottom of a storm scout:
exhaust in the top go a SUGO 03:
Yes, that's the pump/display of the Coolit Vantage on my cpu.
i used a piece of thin cardboard cut to the shape of the front grill, cut holes for the fans and painted it flat black. as for filters, i took them out, but you could easily get some 120mm filter and put them on the back if you...
i've just finished ordering that last bits of my new water loop, so the Coolit Vantage will be going away and being replaced with an XSPC 750 Bay res/pump, RS240, ray storm and white hoses, but here's where i'm at for now...
