I'll report back with specifics, but I was wondering if anyone might be interested in a Dual Opteron + Mobo + DDR2 + PCI-X SATA cards? I don't know models just yet, but I'm hopefully going to liberate the hardware from the chassis this weekend, and I can get specs.
I don't imagine it's worth...
I am in the process of building a storage array, using a Supermicro 846 chassis. Now...I don't know if I ever really intend to fully fill this beast of a case, but it was free to me, so I'm utilizing it.
I did some quick napkin math, and wanted to see if I am interpreting my numbers right. I...
So true. I'm personally trying to decide between a projector (most likely a UST) and a big TV (85") for my "man cave" area. Since it will be for gaming, I need decent input lag performance, although I don't play COD or LOL or any fast-twitch games other than baseball.
My big problem is I am...
My situation is very similar to yours. In order to play any of my games, I have to go to the basement. In and of itself, that is not a problem...but it definitely alienates me, and I end up not seeing the family. They just disperse, and do their own thing, including going to bed, without even...
Turns out I found a Voron 2.4r2 locally for $580 on Craigslist. I have a little work to do (get induction probe working again - or replace it), re-attach the side panels, and organize the wiring underneath. But for the price, I had to jump on it.
I've been on both sides of the fence...although the last Intel was a 2600k. Currently sporting a 5950X (x570) w/ 32 GB RAM and a 6800xt.
I decided to break that rig in by playing the extremely-tough-on-components game: KOTOR 2
(lol)
And for some reason, seeing all these 3090/3090Ti prices...
I have this: HIS Radeon HD 6950 2GB
I also have a Red Devil Vega64, but I wouldn't be able to let that go probably anywhere near your preferred price of free. That said, I haven't looked at what it's going for these days...my guess is $200-ish?
Overall, how hard would you rate it to put together/build? I currently have an Ender 3 Pro, and there's basically nothing wrong with it. However, I want a CoreXY printer with a bigger build plate. Yes, I know I can extend the E3P, but it's cost prohibitive, and I may as well get a 2nd...
Do any of the Android phones have flat screens (no curved edges)? Or do they all have curved edges (like my Note 20 Ultra) that I constantly accidentally touch simply while holding onto the phone?
Flat screen edges are one thing I really like about the Apple phones (but I'll never own one).
I guess I don't 100% understand all of this. I understand that's how much information per block, but I don't know how/why it affects compatibility so much.
I saw a post on FB marketplace where someone was selling drives that were 520 byte sectors, and they wouldn't work for their application...
My link and the link SamirD gave were for identical drives (Both Exos, both manufacturer recertified), except for the SED. I didn't know what the SED was.
What is the difference between that drive, and this one? https://serverpartdeals.com/products/seagate-exos-x16-st16000nm001g-16tb-7-2k-rpm-sata-6gb-s-512e-4kn-256mb-3-5-fastformat-manufacturer-recertified-hdd
The only thing I can see is "SED", but I am unsure what that is.
EDIT...
If you are selling it for more than MSRP, yes, it is scalping. Just because the rest of the market is doing it/supporting it doesn't make it any less so than scalping.
This crossed my mind as well, but wasn't sure. I didn't *think* it would harm the contacts, but I wasn't sure about the PCB itself. Could this also be sprayed in the fan housing?
Having cleaned stuff (processors, HSF, etc) with IPA, but never a whole card, I was thinking that, but wasn't positive if I could douse the whole thing.
Also, do I need 90%+?
I needed a "new" PCIe-powered GPU (so no external power connections), and found a good deal on one on Facebook Marketplace.
It never even occurred to me to ask if it was from a non-smoking environment. After I picked it up, I could barely make the drive home with it. It stinks something bad...
