Just updated to BIOS 3602 and my mouse now works in the BIOS screen. It took me a while to realise/believe it!
I may have missed this delight somewhere along the way as I was previously only using 2303 and had skipped the 3207 update (while I waited for a post Windows 8 update)
Anyway...
Win 8 installed for a week with no problems (but half the time I'm still running W7)
Been running 2303 BIOS since Feb. and with a 4.4 OC (on Turbo)
I don't think there is much difference between our 2103 and 2303
Normal level of Event log entries.
I realise that you have probably built your system by now but I can confirm that my experience with the G620 CPU has been entirely positive.
Since June last year I have been running WHS2011 on an ASUS P68H67-M Pro mobo with the g620 and 4Gb Ram with no hardware issues.
When the disks are not...
New BIOS 2303
Cosmetic change (font) in UEFI/BIOS.
NO change in MS Wireless Optical Mouse 2000.
A year on and it still DOES NOT work. Poor show ASUS by your software people - letting down the (good) hardware side.
Ironic really since ASUS boasted so much about their new mouse driven...
You're lucky!
In BIOS
Keyboard now perfect - Mouse completely dead in the middle of the screen.
In OS - All OK
MS Wireless Desktop 3.1 - MS Wireless Keyboard 1000 - MS Wireless OPtical Mouse 2000
This describes a particular scenario.Obviously it may or may not have relevance to others.
Symptoms
Computer hangs for a (generally short) while but DOES come back to life. Afterwards there is reported in the Event Viewer
Error The device, \Device\Ide\iaStor0, did not respond within the...
Better still, also unplug any network connections ?
To OP - it is worth making sure that all drivers are bang up to date before the change.
One minor possible issue is that your the BIOS may pick up your disks in a different order but the Boot order sequence should find the right one.
- if...
I'll say thanks.
I had to do all the work myself to get the B3 (Buy new and return existing to dealer and wait for refund) but that was my choice rather than wait for some indeterminate time. I wanted to get the system built now to avoid disturbance later.
It seems to me that ASUS and others...
Today collected a new B3 board and returned the original. No problems with any one that I have dealt with but the company was not in any way proactive about it - not that I expected it here in the UK. Dealer is Novatech
Just rebuilt my system with a B3 mobo which has 1305 BIOS.
No difference in performance of Wireless Mouse/Keyboard in BIOS.
(No problem in Windows itself)
After asking my UK dealer I am advised that they do not expect to be able to exchange my board until the end of April.
They will however refund against it. (But then what do I do if P8 boards are not available?)
I bought my board from Novatech (in the UK).
Their website has nothing about the P67 chipset problem and I have heard nothing from them so I have sent them a messge thru their contact system asking what their plans are.
I have not seen any public dealer notices in the UK.
(BTW, to be...
Sorry, I do not understand that.
The board has 2 physical PCI slots. As I understand it, such slots are merely where the Bus meets the real world. If that is so, what is there to emulate?
I am no expert but I am very willing to learn.

If it were not for the PS/2 ports on the P8P67 I would not have been able to configure the BIOS on my machine to a satisfactory working state - so I am in no hurry to join the let's dump every thing legacy camp.
By the way, serial ports are useful for debuggers.

Just to add another non-working scenario
In the BIOS
With USB connected MS Wireless Multimedia Keyboard1.1, Wireless Optical Mouse 2000, Wireless Optical Desktop Receiver 2.1 the mouse is totally unusable.:( The pointer appears on the right of the screen but does not respond, just jumps...
