I can afford to add one more box, I believe. I just haven't decided what to put in the box. I am probably getting 2 1080 Ti's (looks like I am going to have to wait for a bit, since I did not preorder) in some kind of box. I would like to see some DC numbers for Ryzen before deciding what to...
Thanks lelliot731, I will vote for you again!
Meanwhile, CV is almost congratulating me while adding some horsepower to his folding, edging me out on points the last couple of days... Couldn't you have waited for the 1080Ti drop?
Quick! Someone else vote!
Yeah, I'm a n00bie, Brandon. Long time lurker, just don't say much.
CV, I may add a 1080Ti or two, just depends. Don't think Vega is going to touch it much, just wary of the latest Nv drivers.
I am not seeing much drop in PPD for my GPU slots (1080s and 1060s), maybe a 5% drop, but this could be due to WU variance. (running 373.06 drivers) I did have the transient drop while the systems waited for the GPU slots to go idle to allow the core update.
Thanks, I suppose that I will install a more current Ubuntu (that was my plan) and go from there. I may need to ask some more questions, if I encounter any issues. I want to get that machine back to folding, as it was freezing up (probably due to some driver mish-mash with the swap to Nvidia...
Or should I use a different method?
My previous desktop which I want to mostly dedicate to folding has become slightly unstable in Windows 7 due to several updates (MB replacement, video card replacement, and so forth)
It is currently running Win 7 and I am trying to decide what OS to load for...
No, live in GA with about 5500 sq ft to cool. During summer, power bill is 8-900. 300 is about what get on a "no AC/heater" month. Must get more insulation, I reckon and lay the smackdown on my brother and mom to turn things off...(except the folding machine.)
June was (a bit) brutal with the...
Thanks everyone!
I almost pulled my name when I saw my last power bill, but decided that folding is something that I want to do.
(I just need to scrounge up some money for more insulation!!!)
Thanks again all and let the WU's flow!!!
Moss.
Wow.... I wasn't really expecting to **WIN**. I have a good idea what I am going to do with it. My brother and nieces have old computers which were not really up to folding.... This will make a nice addition to the fold ;). (And since the computers are on all the time anyway, hopefully the...
My x6 is at 3840+(240*16). I bumped the voltage up to 1.35. I had turbo on for 5 cores and was priming at 4100 at 1.55V (turbo boost ramps the voltage), but did not like the temps. It might do the 3840 at lower volts and might do more than the 3840 at 1.35, but I was in a hurry. I am...
Reply to Nathan_P....
Yes, I have a GPU client running (an ATI HD5770). I know with it that if you do not tweak the environment variables, that -smp 6 does not make any progress...(I was doing this at first, and had zero frames after 8 hours (overnight).) Needless to say, I was not very...
Well, these *are* getting bonus points now. Good thing, since they seem to be all that I am drawing.
I have an X6 at 3840, getting about 9:25 TPF on the 6701's (running -smp 5).
the passkey is in the config file. passkey found messages are in the log. However, I don't see the initial messages for the unit execution for the initial frames. (I Ctrl-C'ed out to apply Windows updates.) Maybe something glitched in the shutdown of the earlier run.
yes and yes, I have been getting bonuses from other A3 WU's with the SMP client. The WU just before did get a bonus. (I have 19 WU's completed with the SMP client.)
This was a "restart in the middle of a WU, since I installed Windows updates today. Maybe that had something to do with it...
I just (a couple of hours ago) completed a P6701 WU and did not appear to get a bonus. I got 931 points with a run time of just under 16 hours (HFM was predicting over 5K points,) Is this normal? Is anyone else experiencing this after the server issues?
the -np param is what ends up going to the fahcore_a3 engines. (-smp 5 is what I am using now. Just letting -smp default led to an apparent hang, that is, no apparent work being done on the units.)
I am still tweaking/testing a bit, since this is a new machine. I am going to run at these...
I was just starting yesterday, and got the standard clients running before I read about the SMP client. I let the standard WUs complete, while I was getting the SMP2 client set up for running. It is running now with np forced to 4 (-np 4), as opposed to np set to 6 (-np 6). "-np 6" was not...
OK, OK! I am a proud new member of the [H] team! Got the GPU client running yesterday along with 6 standards (on a 1090T, mostly stock for the moment, just bumped up IMC to 2.4 for DDR3-1600.)
SMP client took some tweaking, was not producing until I set -np 4. It did not want to work with all...
