    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

That setup looks absolutely nuts - congrats. :) I have a 2x U2412M + 1x U3415W at home, on Ergotech stand, with Lightpack. I'm absolutely loving the 34" for programming with Visual Studio 2015, which gives me room for Ncrunch, solution explorer and two reasonably sized editing windows and what...

Quick-switch between Extended Desktop and Surround?

I just came in to post a huge THANK YOU for this script, Unknown One, which is now pinned to my start menu in Windows 8.1. The only change I had to do was to set the surround change button to ctrl + alt + s in Nvidia control panel. Now that I have the power to game on all 3 screens, but need...

    Dell U2412M

FWIW, having three screens, I'm seeing some variance between two of my screens as far as the brightness goes. I need to pump my center screen up a little bit compared to the sides to get the same amount of brightness in white areas. I've just gone by my eye so far, but once I have some time I...

    Dell U2412M

Thanks! Yep I love the Galant too, it's a fantastic desk with lots of real estate (with the rounded corner end bit add on on one side, and a flat section on the other). http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4035/4439828167_4de40ed257_z.jpg - this is from when I had just set it up, it's nowhere this...

    Dell U2412M

They do look very nice on the Ergo tech stand, which arrived from the US today. Please excuse the crappy pics, but: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-DFcSmKo4_aw/TkupAUCE8ZI/AAAAAAAAB-k/iE5GVdsNciI/s912/2011-08-17%2B21.39.57.jpg...

    Dell U2412M

A bit of time has passed, how's your display now? _Some_ of it did return but it never got back to being as bad as it originally was. I really had to be looking for it a lot more than when it was brand new. Between sick 11 month old etc, time's been in very short supply, but I replaced my...

    Dell U2412M

Ah, nice find, thanks for that - I will let it run some. I still haven't had time to try my replacements, but the current ones have actually continued to improve somewhat. I'm working from home today after I got hit by a car who failed to give way on my bicycle not far from home (I'm 100%...

    Dell U2412M

New shots of middle screen: Exposure: 0.125 sec (1/8). Aperture: f/1.8. ISO 200. Exposure: 0.2 sec (1/5) Aperture: f/1.8. ISO 200. Hmmm. I'd definitely say it's better. Angle slightly from bottom left, didn't get time to set up tripod so leant against a chair. Have received new screens but...

    Dell U2412M

Glad to hear you like it. Yep it's great! :) My two replacements arrived today, ordered two days ago (I ordered 3 of them a couple of pages back). However in the mean time it does seem like there's been considerable improvement to the uniformity and bleeding especially on the worst screen...

    Dell U2412M

Interesting! I'll try to get a few more shots done tonight. The result may end up being of great interest. I was having to look for the bleed last night; before, the bleed looked at me.

    Dell U2412M

This is kind of weird. The backlight bleeding on my two displays last night was getting less noticeable, I'd say the centre (worst) one was significantly down, and uniformity way up. There's still a spot on the left screen, which now seems to be the worst one. Unless I was seeing things though...

    Dell U2412M

Grats on your screen! I'm actually using an active DisplayPort adapter to DVI for my third screen. This is what I was using before (all DVI screens only), and DP cables are indeed quite expensive - so I won't be replacing them soon .. I need 3 metres too, for my cabling.

    Dell U2412M

You should try getting them in Australia; I was told 3 weeks in the order confirmation ... and 1.75 days after that my three monitors were here. :) Wednesday arvo order, Friday morning delivery.

    Dell U2412M

Thanks for your advice, much appreciated - good news on my right screen too. I decided to get the two monitors swapped over. If nothing else it'll increase my chances of getting good ones. They were built a bit further east - China. My S/Ns were all: CN-0HC55P-74261-161-xxxx. Well, I just...

    Dell U2412M

Thanks - yep, I did note that too. I think it's to do with lens being slightly smudgy, as I wrote. Micro fiber cloth is drying after wash now..

    Dell U2412M

A shoot has been done! After taking 248 images I discovered there was a very fine layer of grease on the lens.. this means the cursor looks a bit soft in places. For the purpose of this shot it has no impact but I just thought I'd point it out. Also note that there's some lens flare from my...

    Dell U2412M

Yeah, what's the point of that? I've already said new will be taken, so it's rather redundant. I may have to take the existing ones down, even though it'd look a bit silly if I did. (Or would it?)

    Dell U2412M

Thanks! Yours looks great, especially your original shot - which is a fair notch up from the best of mine. I appreciate the effort in taking the above shots. I'd say your high exposure shots ended up being more exposed than mine, but looking much better due to use of stand - but will see what I...

    Dell U2412M

As NCX says, exposure is on the high side - I was mainly focusing on getting the artefacts to show up, and it should be taken as that. The bleed does indeed show up, but the overall effect is made more somewhat more dramatic than it should be. The bleed on the centre screen is pretty...

    Dell U2412M

Ok, also for the warranty process, I can do another series of shots and get the tripod out tonight - my lens is the Nikon 50mm 1.8 - in a dark room, what exposure time? I had 1/4s on the middle, and 1/2s on the side shots with ISO of 1000. Maybe 1/4s? Let me know. Subjective analysis: The...

    Dell U2412M

Unfortunately the zr24w is nearly twice as expensive down here, so it's not really an option for me. I also have to get the monitor stand replacement (sag doesn't work for me, and neither does the limited swivel), and the ++++++++ is a fortune to ship down from the US - I'm in Melbourne, Australia.

    Dell U2412M

Yeah, I'm not impressed by the difference in quality. Whilst the camera exposure might overstate the effect a little bit, it is still visible on the best screen - definitely so in a blacked out room. Would you say its level is acceptable? I've decided to definitely return the two others...

    Dell U2412M

Thanks, 10e, yep I can see the difference now - I'm new to IPS panels and the IPS glow vs backlight bleed is definitely easy to spot. The backlight bleed is static, the IPS glow is not. Here's shots of my three screens. I didn't get the tripod out, but for the purpose of displaying the bleed it...

    Dell U2412M

I've set my three up. Overall very happy, however a bit concerned about the IPS Glow of the middle display. The top left corner is positively lit up compared to the right (best) one. My left screen is somewhere in between. This happens even with brightness and contrast turned all the way down to...

    Dell U2412M

This has been a terrific thread, with some high quality information. I just wanted to give an early thank-you in particular to 10e, as I put my order in on Wednesday arvo on three U2412Ms after reading his comments. I managed to get them for just under AUD$340 each, using my 15% RACV discount...

    NVIDIA 3D VISION SURROUND Experience @ [H]

I thought I'd use this thread to ask my question rather than create a new: Do anyone know if Nvidia 3D supports mixed resolutions? My setup is 1600x1200 + 1920x1200 + 1600x1200 (two Samsung Syncmaster 204B, one Dell 2407WFPHC). I currently have to use SoftTH to enable playing iRacing across the...

    Okay eyefinity monitor setup solution?

Interesting, I will start checking out the ZR24w too. Hopefully I can find a comparison of this vs the U2410 somewhere. :)

    Okay eyefinity monitor setup solution?

Thanks for your help Dook, that is much appreciated. Whilst it's probably off topic for this thread, from my readings as long as I can get A01s I do believe the U2410 would be a nice upgrade from the 2407WFP-HC - i.e. much less ghosting, so hopefully I can go that route in July and hopefully...

    Okay eyefinity monitor setup solution?

I have a 2407WFP-HC and two Samsung 204Bs on a 4870x2+4890 setup. Whilst this is great for my work stuff (programming) and single screen gaming, I am thinking strongly about upping to Eyefinity. It'd be great to have a strong hardware solution for triple screen gaming; e.g. in iRacing, I'm...
