alright so am committed to the buyer and tomorrow I get to see them in action in 3d vision before I get them ;)
now to see how to get these on warranty :S
these are the exact ones: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130782
the owner says he never registered them, warranty wise that kinda concerns me but on the plus side he's got the boxes for them ;) . Other than that I think they are ref designs with back plate
I only...
just sold my HD6990 for 500 on ebay and locally I can get two GTX 670 EVGA with back plate's for $560.
do you guys/gals think I should go for the 670 sli or go for a single gtx 680 / HD 7970
Id say go for either a I5 3570k or a AMD FX-8350, which ever floats your boat. Sell the 5850 and grab a 7950 and you'll have a solid gaming rig at that resolution
to be honest your I7 920 / 5970 setup is still a solid all around system. Am guessing you just had a upgrade itch? you should of help on to your stuff until haswell came out and prices of current gen stuff came down.
Update:
after waiting for quite some time in response to my BBB claim, there willing to trade my 6990 for two 6970's
do anyone of you think this a worthy trade?
Update:
Visitiontek told me its fine to put the video card with a missing screw and even with the loose screw as well, and they told me the warranty sticker wont be a factor with future warranty claim. I dont trust there advice at all. The back panel of the the video card is loose due to the...
bad news on the replacement and customer service.
I sent in my my 6990 which wasn't functional, a few weeks later I received a replacement with missing screws and also the warranty Bios sticker has been removed.
I proceeded to contact support was on hold for over a hour and was hung up on...

I just got a email this morning stating to send the invoice, it was duplicate email from yesterday when I did send the invoice...so i sent it again today.

will definitely update this with all...
well one of my 6990 crapped out and it was a Visiontek branded. So I immediately did the RMA thing with Visiontek.
Got a few emails with trouble shooting tips but told them twice that I tested the card in 2 different setups and failed to boot, but yet the representative in the email still sent...
with low settings, you might be able to push older titles, I'd say sell your 5770's and grab a 6950 2gb if you want a good eyefinity experience and possibility of unlocking to 6970
what are the stock volts on the 2600k? I had a H50 mounted on mine and in bios I was idling 48-50c in and used MX2 paste and remounted 3 times same results aswell same results on a A70 cooler push pull config in a good air flow case (cooler master storm sniper)
does any one on hardforum have dual 6990's on a 890fx based board? would like to know anyone's first hand experience on there setup if they had similar troubles. I do have 7 MSI 890fx-gd70 boards on the way and hope I don't have issues.
hey guys, I have 2 identical setups and have problems getting them both to get pass the "loading operating system" screen, it seems to reboot right before showing the windows 7 splash screen. I've tried single card in each system and in each slot and it works but when I try putting 2 x 6990 in...
from 4870 to a 5850 you would see a great performance increase, but if your board allows you to do CF I would suggest finding a cheap used 4870 to hold you off untill 6XXX cards come out and all the price on the 5XXX will go down.
if you play at 1080P definitely wait it out.
the 6 series has faster tessellations (dx 11) rendering, more power efficient and also runs cooler as well likely other optimizations like memory, gpu, SP's communication
do you feel your games are lacking frames? from the look at your current rig its still a formidable system for 1080P resolution with extra details in games on am guessing. IMO the longer you wait the more performance increase you will get with next gen hardware upgrade if you even need the...
so my main concern at this point is when I go over the rated amount of power on the battery and my alarm goes off is it safe to benchmark as long as the AC power is on?
do you guys think its important to get a UPS for a gaming rig? in normal gaming situations am hitting 450-460 watts and its not overloading it then but if I start up furmark or vantage the ups will pass its limit on battery back up mode and beep. Is it possible that my UPS can "blow up" or is it...
I just bought a Cyberpower CP850AVRLCD 850VA/510W UPS now am not sure if I should be worried but when I was doing some benching the ups was beeping and showing me drawing over 560 watts on the LCD and the software was stating "backup battery overload", is this safe to be over the rated battery...
I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight or help on this small situation.
I have a Samsung computer LCD that I would like to use for normal desktop usage, and I now purchased an Samsung plasma television that I would like to make it default for gaming/movies. Is there a setting...
10.6 been giving me problems to, random blackouts/lockups, am going to try 10.4 and 10.5 and see much one give's me a more stable gaming experience
I can also vouch on the 890FX, stable board with 0 problems on my new build. Although on my board the chipset does run a bit warm. Hope your new build goes well :)
sorry to hear about AC doing this, I was about to buy a aftermarket cooler for my 5970 from them with a aftermarket cooler for a spare system but after reading this there not seeing a dime of my money. Thanks for the heads up on companies like these.
