Good evening,
I am in the UK.
I have no idea either. I have used generic CDs before on Dell and Tiny machines, without so much as a single problem as long as it was the correct version.
You can see the code, posted above. I have tried a Genuine XP SP1 and SP2 Retail CD's, as well as...
Good morning,
Thank you for your reply.
I have tried a SP2 OEM CD, with exactly the same results.
I take it if the COA refered to a SP1 install, then I would need to find an older OEM SP1 CD?
Good morning,
I was hoping someone may be able to help me.
I bought a number of HP/Compaq desktop machines off eBay, all with a genuine XP COA sticker.
I would like to install a fresh copy of WindowsXP on these machines, using the genuine keys, but no setup CD I have will allow me to...

Hi, I ordered this laptop this morning, and it should be here on Thursday. I was just wondering whether or not any of you knew if it came with a WiFi card...
Okay, this is my system, which is for sale. I will only sell it as a complete system.
Here are the specifications;
Mobile Barton 2500+ @ 2.6GHz (Guarenteed stable)
ATi Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
2x 256MB DDR400 CL2.5
MSI K72N Delta-L
2x Maxtor MaxLine9 120GB in RAID 0
52x...
I have a beta copy of Windows64, and am seriously considering buying a s754 motherboard and probably a 3200+.
However, I currently have a Mobile 2500+, clocked at 2.7GHz, and would need a good reason to upgrade.
Is Win64 beta stable? Does it have any advantages? Are there any stable...
Hi,
I was just wondering whether or not anyone had tried installing SP2 on a Windows Media Center Edition installation?
Surely it should work considering it is based on WindowsXP Pro..?
This is about at it's absolute limit for air cooling.
Still, it's not too bad for a card with 128-bit memory bus...

Hmmm.. that's what I was thinking.
The XT BIOS I've used previously was a lot quicker, that was all.
But maybe it's better to have a working card than a 5% quicker non working one...
Just seems strange that's all.
Sorry, I think you misunderstood.
I can flash fine, and the card takes the flash.
It's just with an XT BIOS flashed to it it will not work in Windows. I can then flash back to a 9800pro BIOS and it''ll work fine.
I just don't know why it used to be fine with one and not now.
I was...
As the title suggests I have a Sapphire 9800 Pro 128.
I used to use an 9800XT BIOS on it, and it drastically improved scores and frame rate.
However, for some reason, I flashed back to the original BIOS a few months ago.
Yesterday I came to tweaking again and attempted to flash the BIOS...
I have a Sapphire 9800Pro... but I have a feeling it's one of the dodgey cards that's really only 128bit :o
Don't know what my 3D mark score is.. probably not overly impressive
2.63GHz and 1.675~1.7v is as stable as a rock.. 6 hours of 3d mark looping.
To get 2.7GHz I think I'd need 1.8v, maybe 1.825. I only have a crappy cooler, so this is holding me back somewhat. Although, saying that, 2.63GHz being air-cooler silently is impressive by any standards...
The...
Well, I think the mobo or memory is maxed out. It's hitting 210MHz fsb, at default settings. 2310MHz is okay.
But, I try and change the multiplier of change the voltage, and it fails to post. Has anyone else had problems with these new CPUs?
If I adjust either then the system will refuse to post, unless both are in their 'Default H/W' position. It will even do this for the correct values.. eg, set the multiplier to 11x
So, as stated in the title, those are the components I have. I have updated the BIOS to the latest revision, 5.6. The CPU is of the new design. It appears that all the L1 bridges are connected.
However..
If I change the vCore to anything other than 'Default,' or I change the CPU's...
By luck I meant I had a reasonable quantity of week ~32 cores to test last year, and they all maxed out at about 2.1GHz.
I was wondering if the '04 chips were much better on average..
Have any of you guys got hold of any recently produced chips?
I'm talking about '04 production ones.. How are they overclocking?
I've never had much luck with any 2500+s I've had.
Many thanks in advance,
Karl
As stated, it's a Maze 3 Socket A waterblock, with attachments for a motherboard with holes around the socket, as opposed to the socket's lugs.
All items are brand new, and have never had water running through them, except the heatercore, which is in excellent condition.
I am looking for...
