The RAM is brand new. I'm going to try one more thing before I bite the bullet and concede defeat, I'm going to see if this kit does the trick....

I don't understand how the board could just be randomly taking a shit with...
The Task Manager is only showing 8GB of RAM, but as mentioned before, CPU-Z and Speccy report 12GB of RAM. Speccy reports 12GB of RAM running in triple channel even.
I've loaded up Prime95 and it only shows 8 workers. How can I hit it with 11GB of RAM usage? I've posted a screenshot of the...
Well, the second kit of F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ came today and the BIOS is now reporting 8GB of RAM. I have no idea what the issue is. All 6 sticks are loaded in properly, CPU-Z shows 12GB of RAM running in triple channel, as does Speccy. Who do I believe here? What could possibly be going on?
I just ordered another set of these...

Hopefully the machine will be showing 12GB of RAM when I load the kit in. If it doesn't, I have no clue what the problem is because they'll be identical kits.
I'm mainly using this machine (details in signature) as a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) at this point for recording some vocals and doing some MIDI sequencing, but will be doing some video-editing/rendering and gaming as well. I'm going to upgrade the RAM. I've pretty much narrowed it down to...
Ok, I'm a bit confused. I should be able to find the 10.4a drivers again without much of an issue, but I'm not sure what "application profile update" you're talking about. Could you point me in the right direction as far as that goes?
Here's the setup I'm running...
Core i7 920 stable @ 3.6GHz, ASUS P6T Deluxe, 6GB DDR3 PC12800 RAM, Sapphire Radeon 4870x2 @ 750/800, 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F1. I have all of the settings maxed, V-Sync off, 1920x1080, and I'm averaging 55-60FPS. If I try to record at 60FPS with Fraps, I dip to...
ditto. i have every box checked and it's slow as balls. this thing is a real piece of shit. just try adding a server to your favorites list. the load screen just sits there until you cancel the add. i haven't been able to add a single server to my favorites list yet.
bumpin' this one back up. i'm interested in hearing how you guys like this monitor now that it's been a few months. i'm still looking to snag one of these soon. pics would be awesome.
Ahh, making more sense, but still one more question. Why is GPU-Z showing 750/900 and Catalyst is showing 750/800? Which is it? (800 I'm assuming, but you know what they say about that).
Call me a ra'tard if you must, but I'm a bit confused here. Take a look at the shots I've attached and see the red areas I highlighted. I simply cannot discern which set of numbers is telling me the truth and which set is inaccurate.
So is my card running at a stock speed of...
So you're saying that you'd rather have a 690II than the PC-P50? Isn't the 690II around the same size as the Antec Twelve Hundred? I feel like that may be getting right back into the "huge" arena.
Thanks for the information. I was looking at the PC-P50, but I wasn't sure if the 4870X2 would fit. I'm watching a few reviews on it now and I'm going to do the same with the CM 690II, but I'm pretty sure I'll go with the PC-P50. Although some folks on NewEgg give weak reviews to Lian Li...
No, because it'd be basically like building a new machine at that point. I'm just looking at a minor change I suppose. For example, would an Antec Nine Hundred accommodate a 4870x2?
I currently have an Antec Twelve Hundred for the setup listed in my signature. The thing is, it is simply huge and really unnecessary. I have two SATA hard-drives in it at the moment and eventually I plan on having two SSD disks in it and a single SATA drive. I'm building a file server to use...
...are you sure that your are running the 64-bit version of Windows 7? 2GB of RAM is a limitation of 32-bit operating systems. Double-check in your BIOS and see how much RAM is being reported.
See, this is what I'm talking about. No one really seems to know exactly what the hell the utility is doing, if anything. I've heard from some people that TeraCopy enables multithreading when transferring files, but I wasn't able to find any proof of that on the official TeraCopy website. Does...
I think I'm going to be picking up a couple 24" Asus monitors fairly soon. I've heard nothing but good things about them. Let us know what you think for sure.
Has anyone out there been able to find any real benchmarks for TeraCopy in Windows 7 x64? I realize there are several utilities similar to TeraCopy and I'm really curious about which, if any, actually increase performance when transferring files.
I'm not going to get into detail here, but this is hardly everything involved. I have done this on three boxes so far and there is much more to it. For example, the console your extracting the kv from can't have any updates after 08/09, and others. I think posting this here is just going to...
Usually, using the regular old "Add/Remove Program" feature in Control Panel and running CCleaner afterward works fine for removing programs. However, I noticed that I have an old Firefox 3 beta sticking around on my machine that isn't showing up on the Add/Remove menu. I'm using Windows 7...
I made a ICH10R AHCI/RAID driver disk for XP and booted up into XP setup disc. I loaded the correct driver from the floppy, but when I tried to select the hard-drive to setup the new installation on, it said "Drive not accessible," and then hit me with the BSOD. I'm confused. I'm trying to do a...
Wow. Thanks guys.
/facepalm
I've been running the setup in my sig in IDE mode. I'm assuming I'll have to check the ASUS site for AHCI drivers? I'm about to install XP on a 20GB drive I have laying around to see if it will work in AHCI mode on its own or if it requires me to feed it drivers...
