Thanks for help guys but im kinda confused with the different kinds of cables. like these have
28AWG HDMI-DVI Cables
26AWG HDMI-DVI Cables
Premium 24AWG HDMI-DVI Cables
Professional 22AWG HDMI-DVI Cables
which should should i get...does it really matter that much? what does it mean?
I have a computer which has an ATI 4870 which has 2 dvi outputs. my tv has vga, hdmi, componet and composite but no dvi. it was has some connectors to hook up audio via 3.5 mm. what would be the best way to hook the 2 up?
hmm at first 2a and 4a were flickering. if i move down some it stops and now 2b and 4b do it. hmm??? it seems to be strong for the whole screen
something wrong, anything i can do?
most of the time it doesnt but sometimes when i load a certain webpage or game that displays a certain color it'll do it. like this https://endoftheinter.net/
ill see it flicker like little lines of it flickering really fast....it looks like the whole background is moving
its not too bad...
no it does this from multiples sites from different rars. even officail drivers as well.
ran memtest for a few hours. it passed 7 times. i tried doing the eval copy of winrar. still didn't work.
Ok so i downloaded this album here
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=86LZE6UE
and everytime i try to extract it i get different errors.
1st time
! C:\Users\Daniel\Desktop\Shins_WincingTheNightAway_MP3.rar: CRC failed in Shins_WincingTheNightAway_MP3\04 Phantom Limb.mp3. The file is corrupt...
hmm thats what someone else said. He said that the ports should be COMPLETELY downward compatible and should accommodate any x4 or x1 card with absolutely no problem.
well i just called up a techsupport guy and he said that the pcie 16x port was for graphic cards only. their tech support...
hey you helped me in this thread http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] ewbie-here but I guess I overlooked the fact that The interface of 3Ware 9650SE-4LPML only supports is PCIe x4, so it must be used in a PCIe x4, PCIe x8, or PCIe x16 slot.
I didn't realize but the mobo I got( gigabyte...
oh is it? still seems high lol. is that what most people get?
is the cpu temp high or average???
and isn't there a hotfix or something to fix the speed of the fan???
wow i just realized how misleading that post could have been. Yeah those are the fps numbers not temps haha.
yeah the front fan using a 3 pin. All of the fans are 3 pins and so are all of the receivers on the mobo are also 3 pins. Do you know if I can buy extensions at bestbuy or radioshack?
Ok well I ran the video stress test in cs:s and I did it 4 times. This is what I got
190
142
274
272
however the first 2 times I were looking at the temps. they didn't really rise that high but I guess its because it wasn't too demanding :P
And know I haven't tried reseating the heatsink...you think I installed it wrong? or maybe I applied too little thermal grease??
And I tried running cs 1.6 but I think there's a problem with steam. I can't join a game online. I will try another game though.
haven't done any load tests as I don't really know how to monitor temps under load. Would I just switch to desktop while playing a game and look at the temps?? Or is there a program that can log temps? I'm using CPUID Hardware Monitor.
gigabyte x48 ds4
4 gigs of gskill ram
cm 690 case
1...
actually yeah my bad. I didnt have standoffs in the case. I think my mobo didnt come with any screws(are they supposed to?) so i thought those standoffs were screws for the mobo. What kind of screws do I need to buy??
ok because of the bracket on the back of the mobo, I cant connect like 4 of the pins to the case. I can connect the other 5 though(maybe 4?)
I can get about half of them. I can't get the 2 ones closest to the I/O thingy. Can't get the exact middle one. and cant get the one that is top middle...
ok got it, thanks guys.
but i am still kinda confused. With the crossbow bracket...I am supposed to tear off the adhesive, put it on actual cpu(allign with holes of course), apply the thermal grease then put the cpu cooler on top of it all?
see im kinda confused with the bracket and in...
I just got a XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 with the bracket and a e8500. I think in the mobo, the guide says put the thermal grease on the cpu with a thin even coating but in the xigmatek manual it says apply it on the bottom of the thermal base of the cpu cooler. Which one should i do or does it not...
I've heard of it but I don't know exactly what it is and what the benefits are. what I should do with it? I have a 300 gig velociraptor for the boot drive/games stuff and then alot of other HD's in RAID with a RAID controller.
Should I partition the raptor into 2 partitions? One maybe like...
The backlit keys arent really neccessary. I just want something that has a good responsive touch, and good keys. I want something with a volume control(I'd rather have a wheel! I have this dell keyboard that has it and its alot nicer that using 2 buttons) with the other media controls such as...
im using a gigabyte x48 mobo, 4 gigs gskill pc1000 ram and i will be ocing the e8400. I am probably not going to do serious serious overclocking but I will defintely will be doing some.
maybe like 3.8+ i dont really know. You see I was originally going to go with the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 but...
hey someone posted this "A compatible router running DD-WRT in "client bridge" mode. E.g. Asus WL-520gU

- driver free, OS-independent, independently connected, supports multiple devices, not expensive, easy to use and maintain once set up, positionable for best reception...
try and get that model whenever you get home, i'd appreciate it!
and I plan on using vista 64bit. prolly ultimate? idk, whatever is the best for games and most stable.
hmm ok i guess i will stick with the g technogoly.
those both look like they don't have very stellar reviews? I dont really feel confident in buying those. :( anything else?
I want wireless on my desktop but I don't know what to get. I want the newest "n" technology. And would it be better to go pci over usb? I'd think it be better to get pci or even pci-e over usb lol. price is not really an issue...but I would prefer to stay under $100.
Thanks!
will be using 3 additional pci cards. wireless, raid controller, and soundcard. 1 optical drive as well.
how much power you think i need. and can you recommend me a good one that is a good price?
i was originally going to go for the corsair 750W
sorry i worded that wrong. I don't want to wait to get a 4870x2. i am thinkinga bout getting 2 4870's and crossfiring. (not crossfiring 2 4870x2's lol)
