As far as I know, does Excel not use the same language it did 11 years ago (VBA)?
I am a C guy (well, mainly hardware background...EE student), so anything with VB is completely foreign.
Just out of curiosity (no offense to these companies at all, I am sure their products work great), I fail to see how they have a sizable market in the first place.
Mass producers cater to the non-tech savvy guys and corporations. These guys seem to cater to enthusiasts. Don't most...
I am going to try and keep it in *.xls [compatibility mode] (not *.xlsm, that broke it even more).
One consistent problem I get is with ANYTHING "ActiveSheet.crap", such as...
ActiveSheet.ChartObjects(1).Copy
...no matter where it is I get a '1004' error. That may help clear somethings...
Bump from last page.
I cannot get the old spreadsheets to work. Is there anyway for Excel 2007 to support Excel 97 VBA? I really thought this software was supposed to be backwards compatible.
I was using the EEEPC, but I grew tired of having to pull the laptop out in class (can you get anymore obvious you aren't paying attention if it isn't a class that needs a laptop) to check crap in class. My friend wants to buy it from me at an OK price, so I am looking to purchase something I...
I of course meant the argument between similar priced e8400 and q6600 (by far the two most popular).
If you want to go cheaper and by the budget core2s then of course it is better to go that route. I meant in similar price situations. Because I see gains in certain areas by having a quad...
I love the arguments to justify a purchase of a dual-core versus a quad core. It's one thing to say I see no advantage in what I use today, it is another thing entirely to say that a current dual core is as "future proof" as a quad.
I personally purchased a quad because of FSX and SupCom (and...
I have a lot of old Excel spreadsheets (backbone to an older piece of software that is too good to get rid of). Obviously at some point we need to upgrade these spreadsheets to Excel 2007.
Before I do this, should Excel 2007 be backwards compatible with the macros in Excel 97?
I also have an external (would like it to be more future proof than 320gb...but oh well), but want the security of online also.
With Mozy, can you access your files from another computer? Or upload files from another computer?
This forum seemed to "fit" the best for this question.
Has anybody here used online backup systems? I am really interested in Mozy (mainly for price). $5/month for unlimited storage.
Just basically want to hear the good or bad about going this route. I just do not trust physical drives.
Well, I am getting excited about some of the new "netbooks" coming out, especially the Lenovo one. I have already decided I want to order it and a 7.2k laptop HDD at the same time.
There is a range of sizes on Newegg from 160gb to 320gb (WD...which is my favorite brand). I know the 320gb has...
If you could do a survey of people buying newer games (past 2 years) the quad core population would probably be much higher (obviously dual core would still dominate).
I always heard, if you have a dual core already, just stick with it. But....
If you do not own either and are choosing...
The main reason in my opinion to go to Vista is for SuperFetch. To say it has no affect is retarded (unless you only have 1 gig of RAM). I have (all legal from MSDN) 3 copies of XP and 2 copies of Vista Business. I have switched back between the two a couple of times and I finally ended up using...
I personally only upgraded because my friend bought my 6 month old e6600 and zalman 9500 for 200 dollars. I then spent that 200 dollars on the q6600. I did have to buy another heat sink, so the net loss was $35 for me to upgrade, and since I do not upgrade that often, it was worth it to go for...
Quad core is the future. If you think they cannot code games to take advantage on quad core then read the following article from Hard Forums own website.
http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTMwNiwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==
Also, Valve games take advantage of quads. I also noticed...
People need to die complaining about RAM. $66 for 4GB on NewEgg DDR2-800.
On topic, I have liked Vista so far. Vista Business x64. I only have Business because it is provided for free to EE students through MSDN at my school.
Thanks for the reply. Good info.
So I guess I do not need to worry about drones then? Or is that something that every race uses?
Edit: I know every race can use them, I am just wondering if pretty much only one race ever uses them because nobody else has good drone bay storage.
I made a character (Minmatar). I am currently doing the learning skills.
I am trying to find a Minmatar pvp skill progression "guide". Mainly because I hear they are extra skill intensive to be good, but once they have all those skills they are great in solo and group pvp.
Also, what kind...
I found a post ranking the races (clearly their ships) at solo pvp. Wondering if anyone else can verify this is true:
http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=734802 :
---------------------------------------------------
Best = probably Gallente for versatility: they...
Thanks for this information. I found that post again and the ship he was talking about was the "Incursus".
I am trying to find the ship that interests me the most so I can decide what race to make and what path to follow.
I was going to post some stuff on the EVE forums. I made a trial account. Does it not let you post with only a trial account now? I seem to recall being about to post the first time I tried a trial years ago.
I see I am logged in. I can change settings (default char, sig, etc), but there is...
I didn't mean to say character, sorry, I know your ship determines everything.
I read one guy describing some gallente frigate (cannot remember which one). He said it was so fast that most ships could not hit it. That it could take out basically any frigate, cruiser, or destroyer, and he...
Is there a race/path I would need to follow for the best "single player" ship? I may not be quite as useful to a group, but I would max myself out.
I guess you can think of a feral druid in WoW. Not really useful to anyone except they have decent damage and they are incredibly hard to kill...
Yes, I know there is a huge post about EVE, and I have a basic understanding of the game (tried the trial maybe two years ago), but have a few specific questions I think are suited for a separate post:
1) Since the game has been out forever, should I worry about it dieing anytime soon? I want...
I cant get Ubuntu 64 live CD to work (after the linux kernel loads monitor loses connection and computer just sits there idle). So I have XP Pro x64 installed as my main, and then I have Ubuntu 32. Could any problems arise from having two different types of OS's?
Also, since I have 4 gigs of...
