This is a great thread, and thanks to the OP for posting their results. I'm curious about this matter, as my U2412M does flicker, and I was curious whether the 23" variant did as well.
I've decided to return my Samsung LN32D550. While the 4:4:4 looked good and the colors were decent, the lag made it hard for me to use my mouse and I felt the 32" might be too large for my desk. Something I didn't think about when ordering it was how I would have trouble connecting more than one...
Today I received my Samsung LN32D550, panel SQ04, and it appears to have working 4:4:4. I have it connected to my Lenovo X220 with a DisplayPort -> HDMI adapter, and it worked both on and off my dock. Plugged into HDMI1, which I've labeled as PC. Worked on both HDMI Black Levels of Normal and...
I'd like to add that the 42" LK450 seems to show up as the IPS model pretty frequently, while the 37" is not quite as frequent but it actually does show up, compared to the 32" model where IPS's are quite rare.
Probably the plastic bezel expanding and contracting. My Dell 2707WFP did it all the time. I'd get on the computer then after a while it'd pop (bezel expanding), and then once I stopped using the computer and it turned off it would later pop as well (bezel contracting). At least that's what I...
I haven't noticed any strain and I keep my backlight around 10 (out of 100). However, if I wave my fingers in front of an all white screen I do get multiple defined edges of my fingers, which disappear as I increase the brightness to 100. I believe this is an indication of flickering. My only...
Curious what you mean by the backlight is flickering. Does it have a strobe light effect?
Out of curiosity, check out the test here and see what happens: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php
I had that issue with my first U2412M, where part of the screen had a yellowish tint. The replacement doesn't have any noticeable yellow issues though.
The unnatural colors (which you and many others call "pop") you're referring to likely aren't from the glossiness of your old monitor, but the wide gamut of it.
My 2007WFP pops and it's about 5 or 6 years old now and still working :-). I also had a 2707WFP for a while that would pop really loud. I also assumed it was heat based, as it only happened after the monitor had been on for a bit of time.
Returning my old U2412M has proven to be quite a hassle, as the first time around the phone agent made a new order rather than arrange a replacement. Not sure if he did that to boost his sales or just out of ignorance. Either way, hasn't been as easy as I remember Dell SB being.
Also, the...
I received my replacement for my yellow-tinted monitor. The new one does not seem to have a tint gradient, but there is a very fine, very dark gradient at the bottom that is noticeable on light colored pages. It literally looks like someone took a black-to-transparent gradient in Photoshop and...
Yep, mine has it. It's noticeable on light colors, such as my gmail inbox.
I've got a replacement coming, and am hoping it doesn't have the yellow issue. Other than that, it's a great screen.
Got my monitor today as well. I like the colors on it a lot using 10e's settings, however my panel seems to have some brightness uniformity issues where the top left corner is darker than the rest and I'm able to see the gradient. Will have to have it replaced, but assuming the replacement is...
Just got my 2209wa. The screen's color goes from white on the left to yellow-tinted on the right in a gradient fashion. Even in this little message box I can notice it. I wasn't even "looking for problems", just noticed it when I full-screened Firefox and the search box was yellow.
Thanks for the responses guys. The thing is, I'm getting this tearing when I'm playing other games, or when I'm not even playing a game at all and simply drag a window quickly.
I just upgraded to a 512mb 8800GTS from a 8600GT, and my display is all choppy-like. Here is a video showing what I'm talking about, look at the wall closest to me. That's really what it looks like.

This also happens just moving windows around...
