Sorry for the zombie thread.
I looked through all the articles and could only find a Q2 09 in ASUS notebooks release timeframe. Is there any more detailed date? I need a new laptop by the end of summer this year, and it'd be nice to have something with a HD 4860M in it. The only problem is...
I've got a friend having a problem with his 9800GTX. I can't really describe it, so I'll just post the pics:

Please excuse the titles... they're his, not mine.
First he...
Will these things be faster/more powerful than the current generation of X4s?
I know the Core 2 Duos gained some kick when they were revised, but the Brisbane revisions of Windsor cores seemed like a notch down on the poll from my standpoint.
Since there are like 15 pages of text, I'll just ask instead of read:
Has anybody managed to find any way to get either of the slots to run in PCIe 2.0 x16 instead of the usual x8? I've heard this board is locked in x8 no matter what you do, but people here at [H] tend to know more.
I'm looking at two monitors:

What would be the major differences, other than price and ACM vs. normal contrast? Also, what is ACM contrast?
So, I just bought 4 GB of RAM DDR2 1066 for a AM2+ 780G MoBo. Will it be running at DDR2 800 until I get a Phenom (I'm running a 5400+ X2 Brisbane)?
This was originally my HTPC, but now it does light gaming (TF2 and CSS mostly, with some gMod).
Will a 5400+ X2 on an AM2+ MoBo (780G) with 3 GB of DDR2 667 bottleneck a HD 4850 on Windows XP?
I'm looking to upgrade an older spec'd PC of mine for LAN parties and such (mostly CSS, BF2, and TF2). It was originally a straight HTPC, but who says it can't become a partial gamer? I'll go for...
Search seems to be down right now, and I can't find where to enable AHCI drivers in Windows XP (lots of solutions for Vista, but none for XP) over the Google.
I was hearing a TON of buzz about a 28 Days Later mod for this game when it was first announced. Has anybody heard if it's still a planned thing (3rd party, of course).
I think Blizzard has to seriously reconsider what they are doing with some of the aspects they're trying to bring over from WoW.
There really isn't a need for Barbarians to opperate on a "Fury" system, although it does make sense to tack stamina drains on certain attacks. "Fury" will just...
GA-MA78GPM-DS2H is listed as ATX form factor, but it has 9.6 x 9.6 measurements and looks like a Micro ATX motherboard. Is it incorrectly listed on Newegg?
Did anybody else notice that the Barbarian in Diablo III does not use Mana? The Witch Doctor has the blue Mana orb, but the Barbarian has a teal orb full of something else.
I've noticed that some 780G motherboards are listed as having 64 or 128 MB of on board dedicated video RAM. Others, however, have nothing at all listed as dedicated with their integrated 3200 GPU. Do I have to check the sites of each board's maker to find out if there is actually RAM on all of...
I don't care about the new color scheme, I just want Blizzard to bring back the "vision circle" feature that Diablo II had. Not having it might ruin the ambush factor Diablo II used, but knowing Blizzard they're probably just not showing everything yet.
I somehow doubt we'll see Diablo III for a few years. WoW has an expansion this year, StarCraft 2 drops sometime next year, and so we'll probably have the first decade of the 21st century completed before we see Hell rise up again.
They drove my HD 4870 all the way to Texas... that's a whole day's drive...
Does that seem stupid to anybody else? I mean, they have planes in California, too.
Same for me. They picked up the package on Thurs after ordering on Wed, and now they're saying my 3 Day Select will get here a full week after they got it.
Hell, I bought mine from the Egg at release and UPS is still in the process of shipping mine. Funny how 3 day shipping actually takes a whole week, since my new expected delivery date is 07/03/08.
I would have to say consoles like the Xbox 360 and PS3 are driving down prices, as now PC gaming parts have to be priced so as to provide fair prices since the market is dominated by consumers not willing to pay tons for their entertainment.
The largest problem I've encountered here in CT is that both UPS and FedEx don't require you to sign for a package, and so many of their delivery people just drop off packages infront of my door or garage without ever even knocking or ringing a door bell. The problem here, as with my Xbox 360's...
How many people (like me) have a new 4850 or 4870 in the mail? I'm dying of suspence as UPS inches my 4870 all the way from NewEgg in CA to my home in CT (curse you, three day guaranteed shipping!).
I ordered mine about two hours ago, at this point. Wasn't going to post any information until I was sure I had got mine, and now I'm already on Step 4 (GO, GO, GO! RUSH ORDERS FTW!). Let's see if the Egg lives up to their two day shipping, even though I know they're shipping most of my stuff...
3850 COSTED that much, maybe a few months after release. You can pick a 3850 up now at some places for under $100. The 4850 was designed to make a sweep of the sub $200 gaming department and become the dominant card in that area. You were able to pick one up for $150 either because of an...
