All of these 5000 series chips run hot. I thought I would never get mine under "some" control. It would bang 90C under all core boost and has finally settled down into the low 80C on a 240 AIO.

installed my 5800x day before yesterday. when starting the computer it put me into the bios and i had to reset the memory profiles. using a b550 tomahawk. then the real work started namely a rather warm cpu.

I have a somewhat similar problem. If I do a virus scan on every drive it will restart. But if I leave out that one drive there are no reboots. The drive does have 1 bad sector but runs fine otherwise. What I’m trying to say is can you place the game on a different drive and see what happens

can you see a boot load order:dvd,hd,NVMe,etc. try to load the NVMe from this boot order.

are you able to boot straight out of the bios under something like boot order

I have a 12C24T. From the chart it seems that 6C12T or 8C16T is the best. But I do more than play games.Yoy should see how well 12C will load a a evga 970 ssc . In dire need of more gpu.

bunch of smokers here! i took mine apart when it died, i thought, and it was paste that had dried out for brick making. cleaned up the gpu and reapplied paste. it is now fully functional and works like i just got it out of the box.

Update when i catch a deal or can't take it anymore.

sold my xfx 5600xt to buy a R9 3900x. so my evga 970 ssc is in use and i have 2 gtx 660's if need be.

i've had mine restart once,twice but no harm done. might be putting it in there a little crooked causing a short.

mine would drop audio ramdomly in games then green screen and reboot. bad memory module was replaced and sound problem was corrected.

Bought one too go with my 3600 proc. Seems to be a bearing howl at idle that goes away as the cooler rpm ramps up. rgb isn’t that great either
