Thank you, I will. A brief look makes me believe it could be something here!
The companies do the following:
A hotel - pretty standard, small with 87 rooms and opening in August next year. (Not open but still makes a good earning due to being partially government funded)

Hello
I'm running five small companies, somewhat spread out geographically and up until now everything has been going quite well (establised early 2014 and I'm now starting to see a steady income in all companies). The idea is that sometimes in the early 2016 these companies will do some...
Hello
Just bought a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter and plugged it into my projector
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/sv-se/p/wireless-display-adapter
Connected with my phone, Lumia 1520, without a hitch so it works as it should.
However, I have three more computers that just won't...
I definitely need a laid or ten rather soon...
Anyways, going with a keyboard and a more standard HTPC is the easy way out I guess. I would like to get away with the long HDMI cable to the projector, thats the main reason for all this. Second is the way to control it.
I'm not familiar with...
Hello
I'm moving in two weeks and have plans for rebuilding my HTPC. What I would really love is to have, much like Stargate Atlantis, a tablet that serves as base for what is shown on the large screens. My solution for this currently is Microsoft Surface Pro 3 but I can also wait for Pro 4...
Just wanted to update incase someone else runs into the same problem:
Apparantly there is an issue with Windows 8.1 (and Windows 10) and the network card called "Killer E2200 Gigabit" which comes with several motherboards.
The issue is that all data that has been recieved will, for unknown...
I've done the upgrade on two out of six computers in my home. Two will not have Windows 10 due to lack of support for very specific hardware - the last two, well I'm not sure. Windows 10 feels fresh but its rather a Windows 8.2 than a full new OS if you ask me.
Im guessing now but I think...
Thanks for the quick reply!
I agree, its probably a driver or something similar causing all the trouble. I'll do a clean installation tomorrow and see what happens!
But as far as I can tell, nothing monumental in Windows memory management has changed (like the change from XP to Vista)?
Thanks...
Hello
Upgraded to Windows 10 couple of days ago and basically I'm now running out of memory. Before the upgrade (from Windows 8.1) the common memory usage at idle was around 3,0gb, with 12-13gb available ram and about the same in cached.
At boot there is usually 1,5-2gb used. After a few...
I understand that, so thats explains the why. Now its just the how :)
I don't mind the game using a lot of resources - as I see it, it is supposed to be used - but what I wonder is how is it possible that a 32bit application can use this amount of memory without crashing? Because the game is...
Have no idea to be honest, it just does. One of those small yellow triangels with an exclamation mark. Problem is, beside the tabbing of windows, that the system becomes so slow during this expansion. Think of software raid5 and ten users.... :D
It doesn't exactly crash the game but it tabs out to desktop to let me know Windows has to increase the pagefile and Skyrim is not exactly friendly when it comes to switching windows so most of the time it won't allow me to tab back in again.
Hello
Before I start Id like to make sure this thread doesn't become some sort of flame war or heated discussion about the pagefile/swapfile, the use of it or if it even should exist or not :D
My system is fairly good, an Intel i7 4771 model, 16gb ram, SSD, dual Radeon R9 290X in...
Hello
Since 2012 I've had a Sandisk 240gb SSD which performs up to my expectations. However, today I was handed two Samsung 840 EVO disks with the new firmware and I'm wondering if I will notice a performance upgrade or if it will just be in synthetic programs?
The old SSD performs...
Yeah, I read it again now and I agree the question might be difficult to understand, my apologies.
In the end I was hoping for not having to download the same update on eight machines but guess I'll have to do the update the long way :)
Thanks for the replies!
I would like to recommend EaseUS Partition Master - works great imho and only requires a reboot and maybe a minute of downtime. But as always, have a backup

Hello
I'm using Windows 8.1 on eight machines, all using the same Live- account, and I have signed up to Windows 10 on one of these. Do you think I have to sign up on all machines or is it controlled by the account?
Thanks in advance :)
Hello
Just plugged a second R9 290 in my system. The first card is a standard Sapphire R9 290X with an Accelero IV cooler, the new card is the Powercolor PCS+ 290.
For unknown reasons I can't set individual fan setups in MSI Afterburner, I unticked "Synchronize settings for similar...
Hello
Thought I'd ask before I do something stupid :)
I'd like to encrypt my fileservers with Bitlocker but I wonder how fast it is these days? The servers run Windows 8.1 and when trying on another system I get about 100MB reads and writes during encryption - is this somewhere in the ballpark...
THanks for the advice, Outlook it is then :)
We 're using a system called Opera and while its stable and all that its a very old version and I've looked into making use of parkings lots there but it can only count, not count towards a limit. I don't mind a second system actually, problem now is...
Hello,
At work (a hotel) I have a parking lot for 60 cars.
For unknown reasons the amount of sold parking lots tend to exceed this limit, with customer complaints as a result. What I would like to do is to create a calendar in Excel with a storage of 60 parking lots and when I fill in a...
alright, fair enough.
Can't you install teamviewer or set up Remote Desktop and remove the Geforce? Seeing as it will be a NAS you don't need a gpu installed at all. The first one is free for private use (and very easy to set up) and Remote Desktop is included in Windows 7 but eventually you...
Are you sure about that?
Doesn't sound like its using its Cool&quiet properly.
According to this link the X4 630 only uses 12,6 watt in idle

You could get a real cheap PCI graphiccard or even a USB graphiccard...
Gui, never been much of a fan of consoles or command lines for some reasons.
Decided to skip the whole thing with software raid and also storage spaces, performance not up to expectations. Works fine for most of the time but fails at the more critical, for example when a disk is missing it...
Then it would be much easier and probably cheaper to get a decent controller card seeing as it requires three SSDs to work with dual parity. Doesnt look that cost effective to me I'm afraid.
Hello all,
I'm doing some testing with a Windows Server 2012 and was looking at performance comparisons. Over time the system has used three different OS: FreeNas, Windows 8 with Storage Spaces and now Windows Server 2012 with its built in raid5.
To start with, the hardware is quite...
Mostly media of different sorts. Its quite important that I don't lose it, but thats why I have backups.
I kind of figured out my alternatives but have no idea of what to go for... I dont like making decisions like these :)
Hello,
I'm looking for advice for the best setup. Recently bought an Adapted 5805 and eight 4TB drives and now I got a bit of dilemma about how to use them with best result. From the beginning I planned for a simple Raid6 but now I don't know.
Rebuild time for an array of this size is...
Thanks for your reply!
For some reason I always felt the need to put the most powerful card on top and then started to think that such a card is for gaming and gaming only (imho).
I tried the same this weekend and it worked pretty nice! I've got better temps than you do though, the HD7990...
I've had that problem myself last summer. Solved it by uninstalling the drivers, reboot and reinstalled all but the HDMI driver, which would fail and/or hang the system. Then rebooted again and it worked.
My suggestion is that you keep the driver installation to a minimum, one checkbox at the...
Hello
I'm about to buy a 7990 from a friend and replace it with my 7970 when I stumbled upon the trifire test here

Hello
Got a small problem after going from Windows 8 to Windows 7
I cant enable my Eyefinity setup, or my third monitor rather.
I have three HP LP3065, two connected over Mini DPs with Apples active adapters and one monitor connected on the DVI port. Two monitors, regardless of which...
Thanks for the replies everyone.
My plan was to run Windows 7 Home Premium on the HTPCs. The problem is that I misunderstood RemoteFX, I took it for an updated, improved version of RDP - or at least with the possibility to act as RDP and kind of avoided the fact that it had to be a virtualized...
Hello
For almost a year now I have had this wet dream about RemoteFX and the possibilities that it brings. Has anyone tried it yet?
My home consists of three HTPCs running Windows and XBMC. What I would like to do is to buy something like the Asus EEE Pad Transformer or the Asus Slate EP121...
