Honestly I don't see people as a whole being that committed to voting anybody out of office that does anything to clamp down on freedoms. They piss and moan for a little bit then move on to the next thing they see on Facebook that infuriates them. Fear of the people is not something our...
They claim they are doing this is the name of safety. If that were truly the case would it not make sense to do this to ALL vehicles on the road, not just trucks? Government agencies like to throw that whole "its about safety" line around quite a bit. I am not arguing against the regulations...
I had a odd thought and I don't know if its even practical but thought I'd ask.
Say you have a fan installed somewhere, whether it be a case, CPU heatsink, or radiator and plenty of space. Is there any benefit to attaching another identical fan to the fan currently in place. Kind of like a...
Yeah that place is really amazing when it comes to pricing. Pretty crazy that I can drive 70 miles each way $20-30 in gas, pay sales tax and still end up paying less overall than I can online.
I love AMD and have been running them as my primary system since the days of the 1333 Thunderbird...
Well...after much fussing about with my system and trying to push for more pretty sure it fried the chip or MB.Even after getting everything reset to default the system was not acting right. 8150 was showing it was running at 3.6, but everything it did was extremely slow, try to play an mp3 and...
I tried...I would bump it up a tick at a time and give it a whirl. Once I found where the chip peaked out at speedwise I bumped the voltage back down a touch.
Where its at now is the best its going to do with what I've thrown at it. I mentioned before that weird anomalies pop up. I do a lot...
Like I said, if there wasn't going to be a huge speed increase its almost like whats the point. Going by what everybody has said here and elsewhere so far even if I went to that chip its not going to make a huge difference. It is what it is, its not like this chip doesn't do what I need it to...
To answer a few of the questions
I am using Handbrake, high profile, none of the filters turned on, CQ set to 21,1080, slow speed (one step below medium) using auto passthru for the audio. To give you an idea Pearl Harbor bluray took a little over 5 hours to encode. Zakk and Miri which is...
Heres my setup so far (parts that matter anyway)
Asus Crosshair V Formula NOT THE FORULA Z
AMD FX 8150
16GB Corsair ram
Antec 850 watt PSU
Antec 1200
Corsair H80i cooling
I hear that I can put the 9590 chip into this board provided I have the latest firmware. I'm not much of a gamer...
I have an external soundcard that I use for recording/editing and mixing and I know that it does phono inputs and headphones quite nicely but also cost upwards of $400. Kinda get the feeling you aren't looking to drop a pile of cash for this project. I know some of the lower priced units out...
A good electrical cleaner like De Oxit would have worked wonders on that corrosion.
I cannot say enough enough good things about that stuff when it comes to fixing electrical contacts.
I would love to be able to use the front panel audio to hook up headphones in a hurry unfortunately I have yet to have a PC case where the FP audio was hiss or noise free. I have a pair of higher end headphones that go between my music production external soundcard and my Ipod but when it comes...
The system you have right now...the only problem you have is that it is too loud?
If thats the case, I was in the same boat like that once. I run a Digi 003 and Pro Tools on my gaming system. Any time I hooked a condenser mic all I heard was my system's fans.
I wasn't able to totally silence...
Is there a difference in image quality in games between cards in a product line? Meaning all cards within the Nvidia 500 (or Radeon 6000) series put out the same image quality. I know there would be a huge difference in FPS/playability, but if you loaded up a game with none of the extras (MSAA...
It sucks I know...got a stack of 20 games I never got around to finishing. If it was not for the old lady watching Netflix on that thing it would lie dormant.
I've got an AMD build that has the Vengence 9-9-9-24 1600 ram. It works like its supposed to, no issues at all performance-wise. The downside is the heatsinks are quite tall and may interfere with the cooling soultion of your choice.
Ended up getting some replies to my Facebook post from some people I know IRL as well. Got turned onto the MSI Twin Frozr cooling cards...Ended up scoring a 580 Lightning. Really impressed with how cool this stays under load.
Bonus points for the free Batman game coupon that came in the box too.
One thing you may want to do is check your email accounts that are tied to the live account and see if 1. there has been an alternate email address added to the account and 2. see if any purchases have been made using your account.
I had something happen a few weeks back where somebody got...
I am currently running a Nvidia 260 and am looking to upgrade to a newer card. In the past I was quite partial to BFG cause they ran like beasts and NEVER had a problem with them. Who is the top dog when it comes to Nvidia cards these days?
Finally decided to get around to upgrading my system and have decided on the Crosshair V Formula motherboard. I plan on having all all the ram slots filled, probably with Corsair Vengence. I am currently using an Antec 1200 case. My dilemma is in looking at the air coolers that are available...
