Connecting multiple case fans together

I had a odd thought and I don't know if its even practical but thought I'd ask.

Say you have a fan installed somewhere, whether it be a case, CPU heatsink, or radiator and plenty of space. Is there any benefit to attaching another identical fan to the fan currently in place. Kind of like a push/pull setup without anything in the middle. Part of me thinks it would have some benefit, but I tried to find it online and not really coming up with anything. I may not be searching for the correct terms so I thought I'd ask if anybody has ever heard or seen anything on it or even tried it and what the results were.

Yeah guess it was a bad idea. Tried to window box fans together, airflow seemed the same. Noiser than if I separated them. Shrug.

It can increase static pressure, but it doesn't increase overall flow usually.

If both blades were moving at the exxxxact same speed and time it would increase the static pressure. Likely conditions would not be good enough for this to happen.

Not going to say it is useless, but normally, it is better by far to just buy a higher flow fan.

Thus the "Can", not "Does"

It gains no real benefits unless the fans are designed with stacking in mind.
