Got my Westinghouse LVM-37W3 37" 1080p display today!

Had the West 37" for a few days now and figured I'd give some feedback. Yes, it is large - I'm going to be modding my desk so I have an extended keyboard tray to sit further back, but it'll be worth it. 3-4 feet as others have said is comfortable, that's not to say that it is unbearable to be...

Got my Westinghouse LVM-37W3 37" 1080p display today!

I just got my westy 37" today. I noticed a menu option for aspect ratio with options standard and fill. I don't have a 4:3 source handy but the manual says standard mode: conventional format used for viewing 4:3 programs in their normal format. All the reports I read while researching this said...

Cooler Master Stacker 830 cross flow fan

Is the Cooler Master Stacker 830 cross flow fan any good? Better than 2 140mm fans? I can put up to 4 140mm fans in the side panel or (I think) 2 140mm + the crossflow fan. I would like to get rid of the (noisy) Southbridge fan on my evga 680 by ramping up the amount of external air flowing into...

Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1000 - Any good? Compatible?

OK, typing this from my new computer, Ballistix posted fine with 680i. I changed the bios ram settings to 2.2v and 1000mhz before I did anything else after post - no point in stressing the matter - then I went about installing the OS. You should be good to go.

    Stress testing in Linux

The classic stress test for Linux is to compile the kernel - machines believed to be rock solid will wilt if there is anything wrong when compiling the kernel.

Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1000 - Any good? Compatible?

Oh, Sardonic, I got SLI because while it would be insane to SLI an 8800GTX right now, that won't always be the case - so just like I ensured an upgrade path to quad core, I made sure I could get some nice $300 SLI action when the time comes that the single 8800 GTX starts to feel sluggish...

Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1000 - Any good? Compatible?

I have ordered the orange sticks along with 680i, 8800gtx (complete system actually) so I'll let you know how it goes when they turn up. I didn't even see the black LED sticks when I ordered, but now I look, there is something odd - I got a $75 instant discount, and I thought it was $35 mail in...
