For some reason depending on the views I have Explorer in, file and folder names may or may not show. I have attached 2 screenshots of the problem. In icons view, there's no file and folder names but in every other view, such as tiles, the file and folder...
Hate to disappoint you but Crysis is more GPU bound than it is CPU bound. Depending on what you got right now, the CPU/mobo upgrade might not solve your problem.
With a 8800 GTX I can barely run the game at Medium setting at my native res (1680x1050).
GPU is hot as always. I'm seeing it idling in the 70s. CPU idles in the high 40s. CPU starts at 36 C then slowly climbs up as I leave it idling longer since the GPU just spews out hot air and it gets circulated in the case.
I wish the G80 wasn't so hot. If I had another card I would test it...
I finally got time around to transferring my stuff over to the new PC-A05B. I must say I'm impressed by the temperatures. I wasn't expecting much but my CPU temps have gone down a little bit. Anyways the case fans are nothing to scream about. Loud as hell, so I swapped them for 2 Scythe S-FLEXs...
Has anyone had any experience putting a carrying handle onto a case? I want one on the top so I can kinda just carry it around going to LAN parties. Anyone have any suggestions?
Am I correct that this is the only X-Fi card that has a front panel connection for regular cases? (mic/headphones)

From that it looks like it does, and with a standard 10-pin nonetheless. Could anyone...
That A05 looks awesome! This may just be my next case, my current P180B is just way too heavy for me to carry around sometimes.
I too am curious about the PSU to CPU clearing space. It would be nice to be able to put a Ninja in there with the right next to it.
I never liked tearing in games, and that's happened with every setup I have run to date. I've always been able to fix that by turning on vsync and accompanying that with triple buffering. Vsync will fix the GPU to run at the same refresh rate as the monitor, in your case the FPS will not exceed...
I ran CS:S fine with 97.02, had the fog problem as some of the people on nvnews described. Switched to 97.28 and problems went away.
Bottom line is that the game ran fine. What version of ForceWare are you using?
I tried the 97.28s out of curiousity and it is confirmed that HL2's fog problem is indeed fixed. That makes me happy, it's the primary game that I play.
What type of RAM are you using?
The DS3 has been known to have problems with the Micron D9 based memory strips.
I had to DOA my DS3 and exchange to a P5B-E cause of that. It was very annoying.
You know what? I think I found the culprit. I brought it into a shop to have it looked at and the tech pulled off my HSF to see if I was just BS'ing them. He figured I didn't mount a CPU onto it.
So whatever, it was there, so he mounts the HSF back and the system posted on every boot! It...
BTW why do I have to explain where or how I have obtained a temp card?
My question is not a moral one, it's a technical one.
If you really wanted to know, it's my friend's card from his crossfire setup. He hasn't been using it so I borrowed it.
The card is not in an angle and the bottom is sealed properly. Motherboard is on the right spacers.
It's not as bad now, 2 out of 3 starts works alright. I guess I'll just kinda wing it until my 7800 GTX returns.
I'm having this strange problem with my Gigabyte DS3 board. I just recently swapped video cards, sending in my GeForce 7800 GTX in for RMA so I picked up a temp Radeon X1900 GT for use for now. With the X1900 GT, the system seems to hang before getting to BIOS, as if the video card is not being...
