I bought an accelero from directron.com a few months back. Although they are also sold out of s1 rev 2 they are supposed to have them back in stock on 1/30/08, which is almost two weeks sooner than when newegg is expecting more.
I have two monitors plugged into one Windows XP PC (in sig). I also have two sound cards on this pc with 2 sets of speakers, (motherboard sound plugged into a 15" LCD w/ integrated speakers, and a PCI Sound Blaster Audigy 2 plugged into my headphones) .

Since there is no software (besides development tools) requiring dx 10.1 and no hardware supporting dx 10.1, why should we care about dx 10.1? We shouldn't.
Moore's law states that there will always be better and faster hardware available in the future. Likewise, Microsoft will continue to...
Try a better heatsink, your cpu might be getting too hot. Even then, it's just luck of the draw. The only thing guaranteed on your e6600 is 2.4GHz, anything faster is just a bonus. There are no guarantees when it comes to overclocking.
G35 probably won't be out until 2008. As far as I can tell, only difference from g33 is that g35 has a dx10 graphics chip. Most g35 boards will probably be DDR3 standard too. Since you already got a dx10 gpu, might as well go for the g33. Since Gigabyte seems to be faltering on it's support...
Thanks for reply, I did try ccc, but then I learned about another app called ATI tray tools which had most of same features and then some. I was also able to adjust fan speed, monitor temperatres, custom game profiles, etc with ATT, highly recommend it!
Yeah except that the new expansion hasn't been released so its pretty useless to speculate as to what the new system requirements will be. Suppose he does a complete system overhaul, and it is still not enough to run the new expansion? Then he would have to upgrade again, wasting even more...
Well, it seems like of the people here who have actually played wow, you'll notice how we all recommended upgrading the video card, but no one has suggested a CPU upgrade. If the OP is using that machine and getting those framerates, it is because his graphics card is the bottleneck.
Non-gamer's will still want a graphics card that supports HDCP to support to watch high definition movies.
There is a thread stickied at top of this forum that lists of HDCP capable cards. If you're not going to game, just find something with directx 10 support and hdcp support. The EVGA 8600...
Well, you should just concede because it isn't going to happen. You can deceive someone into thinking you have an x1950xtx by calling it such, but at the end of the day, its still physically an x1900xtx. It's kind of like if I were to put my picture on your identification card. The name says...
I can just see it now... you order a Nvidia 9800 for $600 the day it comes out. Best buy sends you an ATI 9800. When you bring it back to the store to complain, they will say "should have read the fine print, you ignorant little whelp! 15% restocking fee for you!!!"
Bigger brand name? HIS is definitely top tier when it comes to ATI cards. If you can't tell from my sig, I am a repeat customer of theirs and for good reason! They have always used high quality parts in their solutions. For example, they were among the first manufacturers to use after-market...
What card were you using before the x1950 pro, and did you have problems with it? Did you uninstall old drivers and use a driver cleaner? Corsair uses a fine OEM manufacturer in Seasonic, so it is not poor quality by any means. On the other hand, I've heard Sapphire as of late has been...
Single player blows... I can only shoot so many bots before I become bored to tears. If you want a good storyline, why not watch a movie or read a book? Give me a human opponent any day of the week. Boo to single player... hooray deathmatch!
Wouldn't be the first time someone was fooled. Furthermore, I think its suspicious that a "Computer Shop Seller" according to his profile would want to flash a card with a bios of a different model. Notice how he gives no reason for his desire to commit fraud, he just keeps asking how to do...
Would depend on the resolution you are playing on. I was playing WOW for awhile with a 3.2GHz AMD64 with a 7600 gt at 1680x1050 almost all settings maxed, 4xAA, and don't remember any significant slowdowns; I primarily played in battlegrounds. However, in other games like Battlefield 2142 I...
Your cpu might be ok for dx10, because theoretically those cards should handle most of the duties that dx9 cards require from the cpu. The swami says your future is... uncertain.
If you are using the analog/vga connection, you might try to synchronize your monitor with the video card. If you are using the DVI connecton this wouldn't apply.
Ahahaha and I thought it was bad when companies paid actors to give product reviews. This is one of their employees reviewing a product? Yeah, he's not getting paid by commission
I'm going to try and steer this back on topic a bit. The issue here isn't whether or not an 8800 is useful for high resolutions, because it is. Nobody is questioning the performance of the 8800 as it seems to be a great performer.
If there is anyone who should be irritated, its those people...
So whats the verdict on f4? did they remove 1:1 support for 1066FSB cpus? I'd try it myself but I don't have a backup of the f4a beta either. Speaking of dividers, what happened to the posts made by PENNYW!SE about the petition for 1:1 support? I can't seem to find his posts, in fact all...
G35 was initially planned for Q3 this year, but last I heard Intel was a little bit behind on their dx10 drivers for the g35. I heard somewhere they postponed the chipset (or the drivers?) until around early 2008.
While playing games like Battlefield 2, I notice considerable screen-tearing in while making quick horizontal movements. This despite the solid framerate of about 60-80fps. Does anyone know any good tweaks or tools to use to reduce the screen tearing? Maybe a program that will force v-sync...
Lower frequency sound is non-directional. You can pretty much place it anywhere in the room and it will sound the same. If your sub is really good, you can even place it in the next room and still hear it :D
Looks like you were probably struggling with the hdd cables in the front. I found that the best way is to kind of tuck those cables underneath the aft plastic hdd clip so that it runs along the bottom of the case. Try it out, you'll find the PSU support brackets goes in much easier that way!
So, you upgraded your CPU, motherboard, and ram, and the CPU gets all the credit? What do you work for Intel or something? haha J/K. Grats on the new build.
To a degree, yes all games scale. To clarify, I meant to say that source games scale more than most. However, once a CPU reaches a certain speed, you will begin to see diminishing returns to the point where upgrading a CPU will become cost inefficient vs spending the money upgrading your...
The 7600gs is probably a nice choice for that system, but it would probably be more cost efficient to update your system to a PCI-E solution soon. For example, a 7600gs AGP is $95, but the equivalent PCI-E 7600gs is a bit cheaper at $75. Just a thought...
Actually, it seems you missed my point. The counter-argument is that a PC is a better overall value then an XBOX 360 on the premise that it plays games better, plays a better variety of games, and is capable of doing so much more than just gaming.
Also face it, not everyone enjoys playing...
Forget about the TV argument. A TV is another type of monitor. A PC can be hooked up to a TV just as easily as an XBOX 360. It is completely irrelevant to the topic.
However, the argument that a PC only needs minor augmentation to become a gaming machine is valid. Everyone needs a computer...
Half Life 2 is based on Source engine. Source games- like counter-strike- scale with CPU. I want to say it has something to do with the physics engine. Most other games do not have this issue, Half Life 2 is definitely an exception.
