congrats! I myself got a heck of a deal on the same model for $250, and it came with a 17 inch studio display. This machine is plenty fast for the stuff I do. Have fun with it. :)

I played the original after I played the second game, and as long as you sort of know the prelude to the story whether it be from a gamefaqs site, or a manual youll be fine. Personally, I didnt find playing the games backwords took away from the experience at all. Its like star wars, or the book...

Maybe he was comparing the experience of both Half life 2, and Sin:Episodes after playing them.If that is the case, then through that perspective Sin:Episodes is in fact a watered down version of Half life 2 because well...HL2 pwns ;)

I mostly use Vim with mac/linux, and notepad with windows. I prefer Vim.

Hey, recently I bought a MDD dual 1ghz and have been noticing that when I set it to sleep, or shut the system down it creates a ticking noise from the PSU that can be very annoying. Is there any way to fix this?

You die, but in this case you can only move forward after you die. Which imo is a lot better then having to load the last save point which could be 10 minutes behind where you last died.

I thought it was a great game, especially if you take the time and breath eveything in, such as the radio conversations, vista points, etc. For me, it took 7 hours to beat and I felt like I was rushing.

I dont know why people flock to every new madden release. Im still happy with madden 04. But yeah, this is not a good thing for people who actually want good games.

How is Quake 4 the same tired old gameplay when you compare it to Sin which...anyway glad you like it ;)

You can pick it up on steam for 15 bucks as of now. IMHO I think its worth it for that price. But yeah, 20 is a little high for it even though its only 5 dollars more. Right now you can get Quake 4 for 20 bucks which I am enjoying alot more then Sin.

Its a pretty fun game. You will enjoy it if you prefer combat to storyline since Its a pretty basic run and gun shooter. If you havent played Prey yet then I would recommend that instead.

If you have another mac you could clone a drive with OSX using carbon clone.

Yes, theres crashes. You just have to try a little bit to do so, and when you actually crash...its nothing to write home about.

I have a game search question as well. It was an old DOS game around the time of commander keen, and cosmos cosmic adventure. it was a 2d game in which you were able to fly around on a jetpack and shoot zombies. Yep, thats all im running. Unfortuntly, I do not have enough need/money at this moment to switch to dual core. I will however upgrade this computer to quad core when they are released. Until then I will be overclocking this system "to the max!" so it should be able to play the latest games...
