This morning we had a power outage. After it was restored, my computer would not boot. The drives made a clicking sound. My first thought was "One of my hard drives must be dying" (I have three). I removed each drive to find out when the clicking stopped, but in any combination the clicking...
When using Windows 7 for media streaming, it would keep all my files in their original folders, and the folder names would appear on my Blu-ray player (or tablet, etc.). Using Windows 8, it just throws all my files into a giant folder called Videos.
Is there a way to get Windows 8 to keep...
Well, this morning when I turned it on, it got to Windows start screen, and restarted. It will now only power on for about three seconds, and then restart. Over, and over, and over...
My machine has been working flawlessly for about three years. On Wednesday, I was playing poker and watching a video, when is shut itself off and restarted (this has never happened before). It worked again for about 10 minutes, and restarted again. I then worked for about 10 more minutes...
I appreciate the ideas, but even if I remove the tuner, it still will not POST...
I did, however, find a way to get the computer to boot: I remove ONE stick of memory (Yes, a different one each time). When I start it up, it will boot into Windows, then freeze. Power off, memory re-inserted...

Turns out the power supply bit the big one. I replaced it with an Antec 650, and everything is humming like a guy who knows something he shouldn't...
I'm having a major problem with my system. Yesterday morning, I shut it down (or so I thought). When my wife went to use it, the signal was off for the monitor, but the power light, DVD drive light, and hard drive lights were all solidly on, as were the fans. She pushed the power button to...
Is there any reason why my Auzentech Prelude sound card would stop working after I installed an 8800GT? The Prelude shows up in Device manager, and the drivers are installed correctly, but it says that the device cannot be initialized (Code 37). The ONLY thing I have done this morning is...
My son had this problem on his computer. His CPU would be at 100% when first booting up and would not do anything else for about two minutes. His games would also slow down for a period of time. I looked up solutions, and running my Avast Antivirus cleared up the problem.
