Looks good to me, as long as your brackets dont interfere with the side covers. As for the Rad, I like it centered as well. I wouldnt worry too much about the crossbar.

I am having some trouble with this as well. I can adjust it in the Nvidia drivers, but it will not retain the setting once you click apply ( this is only true using DVI out, works ok on the component), not sure if this is normal or not.
Powerstrip - I cant use the "advanced timings" feature...
What are your thoughts on Touchscreen LCDs, LED readouts, etc on HTPC cases ? Useful, or just fluff not worth the extra $$.
Im getting ready to put a system together, but still trying to decide on the case. I am pretty much Silverstones bitch, so I will most likely go with them again...
Its possible, sure but I wouldn't call it probable at this point
Try reseting the Vregs by unplugging the AC power cable for 5min or so. I know it sounds weird, but have seen a couple times I could not get the board to boot at all and this fixed it. Seems a couple of people on XS have seen...
Instead of a "reset" jumper, the BX2 has one for "Bios maintenance mode", and "recovery"
Maintenance mode, is like a safe mode for the BIOS. It basically boots from a second copy of the BIOS using default settings, but displays your main BIOS for editing. If you failed an OC, you would boot...
The "reset CMOS" jumper is the same one you used to initiate the bios recovery, as seen
here:
http://developer.intel.com/design/motherbd/bx2/bx2_confg.htm
What you want to do is use the "configure" mode. It loads a "safe" copy of the BIOS at defaults so you to make changes to the...
I have seen the "double dash" problem twice on various forums. I believe the troubleshooting result from both instances resulted in an RMA.
Bent pins too, yikes. I wouldn't hesitate to replace it. Did the board have the socket cover in place when you opened it ?
Yep, looks like thats the case. I did some quick benches tonight before I went back to the rev ..33 bios to play around a bit more.
I can't answer definitively on the 965 board, I dont have too much time with them. The only one I have is an ECS, Fry's electronics special. Not a whole...
Gotta be careful with that kind of attitude, even the mighty fall sometimes.
I remember the first few threads from people who got shafted when Monarch started going downhill. The posters got absolutely destroyed on the forums. Keep in mind, Monarch used to be one of the "darlings" on the...
I believe they fixed the #2 DVI thing with the W3 model, it was only the W1's that were limited to 720P on DVI2.
...Just going from memory though, I could be mistaken.
Thats why I loove my AMEX. If they dawdle on returning the funds, I hit them with a chargeback and let the card company play phone tag. I have only had to do it twice, Monarch and some shithole in the wall vendor out in NY a long long time ago.
Don't you just love how merchants can take...
Just to follow up, I finally got the 2395 BIOS working. Not sure exactly what I did wrong last time, but this time I backed it off to 375 fsb, and started slowly climbing back up to my original OC. *shrug* so far so good, so take one "con" of the board.. Looks like it was the fault of this...
Ok after a bit more tinkering, I think I have the 2395 bios working.
My old settings on the 1333 strap were 4:5 on 425 FSB so ram was running about 1066 at 4-3-3-7
Going to the 1066 strap, I could no longer run 4:5 regardless of my timings, so Im now at 425 1:1 so 850 5-4-4-10 but believe it...
All I can tell you so far, is I couldn't boot over 400 with even the 1333 strap using the 2395 BIOS. Im back to 2333, but haven't tried 1066 strap yet.
Hey Coach,
I was in a similar situation. I had an EVGA 680i, and recently switched to a BX2.
Long story short, Initially, I was very pleased with my 680i, but after a week or two of tinkering, I noticed the memory controller was really flaky.
I was also a bit perturbed at the lack...
Edit* Nevermind. You are either legitimately retarded, or willfully ignorant.
Either way, not going to waste anymore time on this. You have been provided several links showing Foxconn makes the board.
So far, the counter argument is the equivalent of a very emotional "nuh-uh", I can...
Nah, I had dropped the multiplier to see what my max FSB was. It was board limitation. Some wierd issue on some of the boards where the 4mb chips wouldnt boot over 450FSB. The 6600 topped out at 445 x9, but wouldnt do 450x8,7,6,etc.
Wow, thats warm. Are you guys running it inverted or anything ?
Mine ran around 35 with the stock fan, MB Volts were near max with the FSB right under 450 (Wouldn"t go higher with my 6600)
They might have "teamed" together to design the board, but its manufactured by Foxconn plain and simple. Just like the BX2 was designed by intel, and MFGd by Foxconn. Same same
My EVGA 680i board even had a "Foxconn" stamped socket cover.
I just thought it was amusing that Vanilla was...
My experience mirrors what many are saying here. Over the course of the past year, I have gone from:
3200 / 6800gt / 1g ram
to
same system an 2 gb ram
to
opty 170 / 7800gt / 2g ram
to
same system with another 7800gt for sli
to
same system replaced the gt's with a 1900xt
to
E6600...
Speed, try going into Nvidia Control Panel > Video and Television > Change Signal for HD format > Make sure its on 1080p. I believe 1080i is the default. Changing this fixed some similar issues for me.
One would think it dosnt have any effect on desktop settings, but it most certainly...
Its possible, but do you want it stable ? I can bench with it, but it's not 100% stable yet. I'm still playing.
This is at 1.58-1.6V on water BTW. CPU-Z's voltages are borked.
