Like the AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (s939) / 2.0Ghz. It's dual core, but that doesn't make it add up to 4.0Ghz right? I'm complete noob to this, hahah. If anyone could answer that question and help me out with the basics, that'd be great.
Mainly, to prove I was right... he's talking all this shit that I need to do my research. I apologize for the swearing, but I was merely quoting his picture.
I figure if he won't take my word, maybe he will from all you guys... who know their hardware 100x better than me.
He's telling me to post on DFI's forums and ask, rofl.
"Dude go ask on their forum.
You tell me to do my research.
I'm the one running a monitor out from that mobo right now.
Go ask them."
Oh yeah, I even showed him this comparison:
COM
VGA
But he still insists that I am wrong. So I figure if you guys confirm this, he will admit he was lieing.
This that it's pointing at is a COM port, correct? He's saying it's VGA, and as you see, calling me a fucking retard. This DFI mobo doesn't even have onboard graphics, but he seems to think it does... rofl... he also said he's using a AM2 FX62 on this S939 mobo...
I sold my video card, but I didn't keep the anti-static bag thing! I might have one laying around somewhere, if I can't find one, what should I put it in? lol, thanks.
Yeah, as the title says. It's the stock one that came with the AMD 3200+, should I just replace it? When not doing anything on the PC it still does it. Temp of the CPU averages around 36c, and only goes up to 45c when gaming.
Is it safe to hook up an internal optical drive (dvdrw), and if the plugs reach, to set it on a wooden desk? Never done it before, but the little expansion slot plastic fuckers are like super glued to the case and I cant get them out.
Thanks!
I have roughly $775 to spend (Canadian). What should I upgrade? (Aside from ram, I've already ordered Kingston HyperX)
Currently have:
Case: Aspire Black X-PLORER with 450w psu
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Mobo: Asus A8N-E
Video Card: BFG Tech 6600GT OC @ 575/1200
RAM: 768MB Nanya RAM (1GB...
I'm running fear maximum/medium settings, no aa and getting around 50-70 fps ... stock speeds for my cpu and gpu ... got the bfg 6600gt oc for now, waiting for 7900 ;)
OCZ
or
Corsair
Will be getting 2x512 ocz if it would be the better choice. Basically just for gaming, I just want to get rid of the crappy ram im using now. Won't be overclocking.
Thanks.
I just need some help understanding the whole hard drive thing.. my motherboard, a8n-e ( http://pics.computerbase.de/news/10095/1.jpg ) has 4 sata ports, so that means I could hook up 4 sata hard drives provided I have enough room in the case right? I also have 2 ide connector things free, so I...
I got 2x256 from a friend for free, and I had another stick laying around not being used. I have about 95 cad left, so I could up it to a gig no problem. I can put ram in, I don't know how to put the cpu in, or mobo in case, etc. so I got the local computer store to build it.
asus a8n-e nvidia nforce4 ultra mobo
amd athlon 64 3200+ (s939)
768 mb ram @ 400 mhz
bfg tech 6600 gt oc (pci-e)
maxtor 250 gb hard drive
obviously not the best possible, but this is what im upgrading from
unknown mobo lol
intel celeron 2.4ghz
512 mb ram @ 333 mhz
nvidia fx5500 (pci...
Lol I'm not familiar with the whole amd thing, but what would the amd athlon 64 (says venice core, no idea what that is lol), 2.0ghz be in "intel speeds". Like what would this cpu be equivalent to in intel world.
Thanks.
Mobo here
Plus the AMD Athlon 64 3500+ s939 ... will that work? I know pretty much nothing about hardware, lol. Mobo page says "Supports AMD Socket 939 Athlon 64FX/Athlon 64 X2/Athlon 64", but I want to make sure before I go out and buy it.
Thanks guys!
Oh, and will it fit in this...
I know little to nothing about video cards, so dont hate me!
First question is if I get a mobo with sli, will I have the option to run sli, or do I have to? (ie: can i use an ati card if I choose to, not to run sli, just a single one)
Second is I would like a video card that will play...
