I just need some help understanding the whole hard drive thing.. my motherboard, a8n-e ( http://pics.computerbase.de/news/10095/1.jpg ) has 4 sata ports, so that means I could hook up 4 sata hard drives provided I have enough room in the case right? I also have 2 ide connector things free, so I could hook up 2 more ide hard drives. What is raid, what is it used for? When I put a sata drive in, do I just configure it in the bios as I would for an ide drive?

I'm sure these questions are really easy for you guys, but I'm just trying to understand this stuff before I go out and buy another hard drive.

Thanks.

Correct

Actually, you could do 4 drives, as you can hook two devices up per IDE channel

No configuration in BIOS necessary
