Have you tried a factory reset yet? I've had this issue before on older Android phones which fixed the issue. Seems sometimes cached data isn't kosher with the 'upgrade', esp when there's a shit-tastic UI involved (Sense, Motoblah, Touchwiz, etc).

I just purchased the Samsung Nexus S 4G for my girl; phone is pretty slick being a pure Google experience phone, plus it will be one of the very first legacy phones to get ICS since that's what Google was using to demo it.

I've had stock verizon Gingerbread for a couple/few months on mine, but I was a zealot and grabbed the last update before they pulled it. I also got the new one a day or two ago, which supposedly was the same with a bug fix or two.

Hmm, all sounds like crap I've been doing with Android over a year now.

Also, pull the battery for about a solid 2 mins and reinstall it before you attempt another charge. I find this tends to reset something the phone is doing in reaction to a dead or near-dead battery.

Windows Phone 7 might be slick, but all the apps are elsewhere.
