Ok I have a strange situation brewing so I need some advice. I am going to build a new computer soon (probably around christmas) but I recently bought bf2 and need some Ram now. My current computer takes PC 2100 so would it be ok if I bought PC 3200 RAM for this computer? I realize if it does...
From what I understand venice is a better optimized core than newcastle. At stock venice is only about 5 to 10 percent faster then their counterparts (ie a newcastle 3000+ v a venice 3000+} but venice overclock ALOT better and have dual channel ram on the 939 nvidia boards. plus the pci-e vid...

Here is a list I'm planning on getting as soon as I can get the funds its about 800 dollars for the entire system and this is after doing a good amount of research.
You didn't read my post within the context it was meant for. I can't stand knee-jerk reactions by people who half read a post.
I said as it gets MORE mainstream...meaning a greater percentage of market share. For the love of god man read the entire post first please and understand the...
ummm crossfire is a high end technology and this sort of technology makes up a very small percentage of overall sales. When SLI/crossfire becomes more mainstream I'm sure they will have the bugs worked out. The only people effective by this news will be the enthusiasts. .
I dunno I was pretty puter retarded before I joined these forums. I knew my computer had a processor and something called RAM :P but I would have never ever EVER cut a 500 dollar graphics card to make it fit in my computer no matter who told me to do it.
My keyboard suddenly stopped working. No reason I was sitting at my desk and it suddenly stopped working. I'm using the On-Screen keyboard so I can't test to see if its the keyboard or the coonection. Any one heard of key boards just dying?
BTW it's a logitech keyboard.
Anything I can...
I currently have 512mb of PC2100 Ram. I'm looking to upgrade as cheaply as possible so would it be alright if I added another 512mb of PC3200? Would there be significant performance lost...not just benchmarks but a noticable lost. Thanks in advance.
I think there is a tendancy of older members in any forum tend to get arragant and become intolerant of what they consider irrelevant posting. There is a forum I belong to that is really unfun because they have so many rules on how to post you have about a 75% chance of your thread being...
What about the harddrive? I'm very nervous about this part and have changed my mind about a hundred times and this is really the only part of my new rig I'm nervous about.
From what I can tell unless you plan on doing some hardcore multitasking (not just browsing the internet and playing a game) then its the only time to get it. Not to mention there aren't any games right now that can take advantage of a dual core system.
lol I hear ya. I try to hold onto mine for at least 3 years. 1000 to 1500 dollars is all you need to build a really good system it all depends on what you like.
the psu is made from the same manufacturers that make Antec...on the PSU buying guide thread in this forum it was the PSU of the month or something. I'm pretty boring when it comes to cases, I don't go to lan parties and I don't really plan on staring at it much so I'm just more interested in...
according to the guy a couple posts back they probably thought you could fix the computer too well and they wouldn't be able to milk customers for all their hard earned money. Its kinda sad they can get away with this..and the only way they can get arrested for stealing is if there is some...
Ok I'm about to pull the trigger on this new rig. Thanks to everyone in the forums for helping me with my research I have learned ALOT. I started out puter retarded and I've graduated to semi-retarded. Lemme know what you think of this setup. Are there any conflictions? Anything I'm missing...
Yeah my wife works in retail and she can count on her hand the number of times people have been arrested for shoplifting. Not that noone steals from her store they just don't get caught.

I stumbled on to this site and the price is incredible. They can build a better computer for me with free shipping cheaper than I can build it. Also it has a 3 year warranty and lifetime tech support. What does...
I've recently had three friends just buy new computers. One dumped 4 grand into a sony Vaio and got a x300 video card. When he talked to the sales guy he was told it was the top of the line card out there.
Next guy went to Best Buy and bought an E-Machine and was told the graphics card...

Here is a pretty cheap MSI board.

and a cheap DFI board.
Both get pretty good reviews from customers.
Or would this be a better build for 80 bucks more.
