Yeah I'll definitely look into the quad-core. And it looks like the Corsair PS is at a pretty decent price right now (with rebate), so I'll stick with that.
But otherwise, everything looks good? No major changes anyone would make?
So I shipped my computer to my new place out of state, and they dropped it/otherwise destroyed it, and I was able to drag $600 out of them through the claims process (which I'm OK with - it was a 5 year old machine I had built back when I started college). So now its time to build it anew...
Anyone think its safe to buy the L90D+ again? I'd really like to buy one - its a great monitor at a great price - save for the vertical line thing. Its been a while since people have been having the vertical line issue - you'd think the problem batch of panels would be done by now.
All right I'm going to try to explain this as best I can. When playing DVDs via my DVD-R drive (its a Lite-On SOHW-1693S), I hear a really annoying whining noise through the speakers behind the sound of the DVD itself. It is a noise very similar to the high-pitched whine the actual drive makes...
hot damn!
That thing had better bolt right into the mobo tray or something so it doesn't rip right off of the socket.... and I thought the 7000-Cu was big :D
the keyboard is definitely the easiest part to replace on a laptop. It's usually just a matter of a few screws to remove the plastic cover by the keyboard, lifting it out and undoing the cable from the mobo.
Out of curiosity, how many sales reps did you end up talking to in this hour? I'm looking to buy a 2405, but haven't been having much luck with the reps I"ve talked to.
hmm thats odd - I have the same problem with my PC-65.
IC7-G
P4 2.6
Zalman 7000b-Cu heatsink
1x SATA HD
1x IDE HD
1 optical
my CPU idles at 48-50, ambient temp in the case is about 34-38, and at load, the CPU goes up to about 54.
I agree about the fans right on the HD's though -...
At our dispatch center (I work at a police department), there are three LCDs at each dispatcher's station that have been on 24/7 (with two out of three displaying basically the same screen all the time) for well over a year with no issues. The three Dell 17" models we have in there still have a...
No, they don't really care about the name - I told them I didn't have a name so they just put down "Icarus, Inc."
What I'm curious about is if the people you talked to made you give them personal info (name, address, phone #) prior to bargaining about the price? The guy I talked to...
I've heard so many people say they've gotten the best deal from an SB rep - what's the deal with an individual buying from Dell SB? Aren't there any stipulations about owning or being part of an SB? :) Apparently, if there are any, they aren't readily enforced, but I'm still curious.
dmmit xeero - now we won't find out how Pinipig523 got it for $700 :p
but seriously, if that deal is still available, I'm calling Dell right now and ordering. So whats the deal (no pun intended) pinipig? :D
The 2405 model in general seems to have a problem with the whining noise coming from the power supply unit (a problem that seems to afflict many dell products, as several Dell desktops I've owned have had a power supply with a high-pitched whine), and there are several threads on this at the...
I just ordered some fans from SVC late Monday night (way past business hours) and I got an e-mail this past afternoon saying it had shipped with an expected delivery date of 7/27/05 (ie today!). My first order from SVC and I'm not complaining.
^ I was thinking I'd be happy with one of those $779 deals when it came around again, but now Fastone is the second person on these forums I've heard getting one for <700 - not sure if i can settle for the 779 anymore :D
Damn Best Buy refused to price match - story (correction, stories) I got was 1) that the CompUSA HL2 deal was on a corporate "no price match" list and 2) that its up to the individual cashier supervisor person to refuse it if the price is too low and 3) that they don't accept printouts of the ad...
