So I shipped my computer to my new place out of state, and they dropped it/otherwise destroyed it, and I was able to drag $600 out of them through the claims process (which I'm OK with - it was a 5 year old machine I had built back when I started college). So now its time to build it anew.

The case (Lian-Li PC-65B) is still fine, as is the RAM and monitor, so I'm good there. Everything else, on the other hand, needs replacing. Here's what I'm thinking - let me know what you all think.

This will be a general everyday computer - I haven't been much of a gamer recently, so no need for any of that - just general crazy multi-tasking.

Big question is whether the Corsair PSU is worth the price, or would an Antec Earthwatts work just fine for me, considering I'm not doing any overclocking or anything? I've heard they're well made - just not sure if its worth it if I'm not doing anything crazy.

Go nuts - and thanks for the input....

I've got an Antec Neo 550 on an E7200 that I don't overclock. I've also got an HD3870 running on it , so it evens out some. Too bad that PSU is not modular. Good price though.

Yah, I'd suggest a quad for crazy multi-tasking. With my Opty I was able to multi-task like I wanted to, and with my quad I can do even more. :D

The Earthwatts is just fine for what you're building. Both the Corsair VX450 and EA430 are built by Seasonic, so they're both good quality (though the Corsair may be a bit higher in quality). Don't overpay for either, though. Newegg likes to overcharge for PSUs in the past while competitors regularly price the same PSUs lower.

Yeah I'll definitely look into the quad-core. And it looks like the Corsair PS is at a pretty decent price right now (with rebate), so I'll stick with that.

But otherwise, everything looks good? No major changes anyone would make?
